Torin 3.5 Mesh Mens ZERO DROP HIGH CUSHIONING Road Running Shoes Reviews

4.4 Rating 8 Reviews
A genuine 4E wide fit toe box, excellent cushioning, good secure lacing and heel cup; all in all a superb but uncommon combination. They do size up small, need to go up a half-full size. My only (minor) gripe is the raised foam ridge on the outside sole-upper join can be felt when walking, although I do have a broad mid foot it must be said. This disappears when running (mid-forefoot strike) so is not an issue at all once underway.

Everything you come to expect from Altra, exposed rubber soles are feathering a little early but Altra day that’s expected as it’s exposed, a little too comfy around the heel also but that’s being altra critical (a little pun for you there). Great cushioned zero drop shoes.

I am a big fan of Altra shoes and the Torin 3 was my best shoe to date. The 3.5 has more volume as a shoe, feels bigger when on and when running feels similar to the 3. On sizing its the same as the 3 I am 8.5Uk and the same in the 3.5 however in the 4 I am an 8Uk. The poor bits for me are tongue is to long, the heel tab is way to high and the lacing holes come up too high as well. Which is a problem if the fit isn’t correct. Altra appear to have lengthened, raised the heel tab and brought the lacing holes higher is all there new shoes. Which is a shame as they are ruining excellent shoes.

Altra provides wide fitting and natural running dynamics. Adequate cushioning for the road and good stability. Northern Runner were excellent in their advice re buying Torin mesh over knit and going half a size up from trail Altras. Excellent.

Have already used for long distance run and shoes are definitely comfortable They take a little getting used too as they look very big but actually don’t feel like they are when you are running

Great shoe for road running - cushioning a bit more than I'm used to but getting used to that. Very lightweight. Northern Runner advised me to go up half a size from normal which proved to be spot on advice as the shoes are a perfect fit. I have the Provision 2.0 and Lone Peaks 4 size 11's and the Torin's are size 11.5. Delivery service was spot on and the shoes came quicker than expected with standard delivery.

Having been an Altra convert since their conception I was keen to see how the latest Torin’s ran since I last used them a couple of versions ago. As a paradigm fan more recently I was impressed with how these compared from a cushioning perspective - usual nice stacked ‘cush’ as expected from Altra which even after a couple of hundred miles have not flattened as sometimes happens in some Altra variants. Also a major improvement is how the integrated tongue locks the top of the foot down with special lockdowns the laces thread through. So even with the usual Altra skate shoe feel they do lock down great and provide a lovely ‘cushy’ ride. The mesh also breathes well and drys super quick. They do size half a size larger than usual for an Altra and do look massive when unboxed for he first time. However, with the lockdown they do mould around your foot as time goes on and are always going to look on the big size due to stack height and the fact they run neautral i.e. the outer part of the tread keeps traction flat and stable reducing any supination. Very recommended for piling up the miles and reducing fatigue - even worth considering for Ultra distances where speed is not key but efficiency is

Nice looking shoe Comes up slightly smaller than the Torin 3.0 ,however it still fits Maybe less room in toe box at the top of the foot but nothing that effects or rubs the foot ... I have flat feet and these are great shoes zero drop which allows full mobility of the foot. The mesh shoes seems to have slightly more support than the Torin 3 But still allows your foot to move naturally... I use this shoe for the treadmill mainly at the gym or for long slow run sessions... If you like the Torin 3.0 you will like these ...I got the same size as the Torin 3 and have no issues with size if I had gone up another half size they would be to big ... But with all the Altra shoes I have I’ve gone a half size up from say Saucony shoes ....
