Harrison's Adult Lifetime Fine 1lb Organic Parrot Food Reviews

4.9 Rating 34 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Because birds can be intolerant of artificial pesticides, fertilisers and preservatives, Harrison's Bird Foods developed the first 100% Organic bird food.
The ingredients are premium whole grains and are approved for human consumption.
Adult Lifetime is recommended as year round maintenance formula for healthy, non-breeding birds including Lories, Cockatiels, Lovebirds, Quakers and other small to medium Parrots.
If you're changing your bird's diet from a seed based one, then it is advised to complete a dietary program of High Potency (see product 5803) for a period of 6 months first.
We would recommend a veterinary health check prior to changing your bird's diet.

We have two disabled housepigeons who were on a pigeoncorn diet. On a vet visit our girl was diagnosed with an enlarged liver, probably at least partly to do with the fact a pigeoncorn diet is not suitable for indoor birds with very little flight - its intended for racing pigeons. The prognosis was very uncertain. The vet recommended trying Harrisons as it has everything they need without risks of enlarged liver. As neophobes, the birds took about two weeks to adapt to the changeover. They would only start eating it if we nibbled it first and fed them the nibbled pellet by mouth. Not that weird really as if your parents are eating it it must be safe! Eventually we were able to reduce the seed to pellet mix so they were on just the pellets.Subsequent vet visits showed improvement in our girls liver and four years on both our birds are happy and healthy and love their pellets. Now they get a little pigeoncorn as a treat a few times a week, and I cant help feeling Harrisons went a long way to saving our girls life.

My small Conure is a very fussy eater. I was unsure if he would eat the lifetime formula as he was used to the high potency. I need not have worried as he tucked in straight away. For my bird the fine size of food is perfect as he likes all his food in small pieces.

My Cockatiel is known for being very fussy but I thought I would try this to encourage him on a healthier diet - all he wants is seeds! I started giving him this a while back, it did not take him very long to take to it and now he LOVES it. Infact, when he has none left in his bowl he screeches at me until I get him more! He looks healthier and is a lot happier when on this food.Great product, my Cockatiel loves it!
