“I've been using Lions Mane Extract Powder for about 10 months now. I was inspired to try it after watching a Joe Rogan podcast with mycologist Paul Stamets. He claimed that it increases the thickness of myelin around axons in the brain. I.e. the insulating material around connections between neurons, essentially improving your memory. This is something I've experienced and am fully open to the possibility that it could be placebo or that there could be some other mechanism under pinning it, but either way I feel my short term and long term memory has improved. Additionally it's meant old memories from that past that I haven't thought about for years have come back into my consciousness which I suppose would fit with the myelin thickness hypothesis. When I'm relaxed I have a much greater chance of remembering phone numbers on one listen or look, the same with wifi passwords. It's also improved the speed of my processing in general. I'm a professional Jazz Musician so it's helped with all aspects of that. Additionally it makes my vision brighter and sharper. I'm aware these are all quite bold claims. I bought this first in capsule form from ebay, thought it was incredible, bought some cheap powder from amazon and the effect wasn't in any way comparable. The powder from amazon was just the ground up mushroom as opposed to the 10:1 full spectrum extract powder. I heavily recommend giving this a try if you're open to the possibility of tweaking your cognitive abilities slightly.”
