“This product used in conjunction with the conditioner unfortunately has not suited my hair type. The conditioner appears to leave a sticky damp residue no matter how much I adjust the amount being used or where I all apply it in terms of hair length and I’ve lost my shine to my coloured hair. It could be that it’s just not for my hair type with adding too much moisture from the Quinoa. Disappointing as I wanted to love Evolve’s haircare as much as their skincare products. I haven’t tried the superfood shine range which may suit my hair type better. The product is not easy to get out of the hard plastic bottle container. Alternative bottle type may need to be considered for ease of use for customers. The smell is mild and pleasant though does not last on hair following drying it.”

Haircare can be very individual, and even ingredients that are generally well tolerated — such as quinoa — can sometimes add too much moisture depending on hair type, porosity and condition. It may simply be that this particular formula isn’t the right match for your hair. Thank you as well for raising the point about the bottle. Packaging is an area Evolve Beauty takes very seriously. The brand has strict internal guidelines on the types of plastic that can be used, prioritising materials such as PET and PP that are inert, fully recyclable and compatible with high levels of recycled content. Certain softer or alternative plastics, while easier to squeeze, don’t always meet these safety, recyclability or longevity requirements — particularly for natural formulas with minimal preservatives. As a result, there can be a trade-off between ease of use and environmental responsibility. Evolve is actively working towards being plastic-negative, meaning they aim to remove more plastic from the environment than they introduce, and they continue to explore alternative solutions such as fibre-based packaging, refills and improved designs where possible.
