“This is a direct replacement, on my 2019 model, as the mirror backing had started to blister, I don't know if it had reacted to a glass cleaner I was using ,but this fixes to the original windscreen holder in minutes.”

“Ordered online as my original Abarth mirror was starting to show it's age. Mirror arrived and upon taking it out of the box I could see that there was a haze over the mirror like there was a protective film on. Rather than taking a needle or something to scratch it off I rang MX5parts. I was told that there isn't a film and all the mirrors were like it. They were defective from manufacture. Why did they send them out like this when they knew they were defective? I then had to package it up and send it back. I asked for another mirror to be dispatched IF it was free of defects. A second arrived and this too showed markings in the glass, like ghost rings. Luckily I saw a post on Facebook which suggested a way of cleaning the glass, which I did with success. The mirror now fits fine as it should have done from purchase. Most disappointed that MX5parts would send out 2 defective mirrors and not be paticularly bothered about the customer.”

“Like for like the mirrors are exactly the same for both the Mazda MX5 & the Fiat/Abarth 124 Spider. Beware that the manufacting process can and does sometimes leave a hazy film on thre mirror glass when received from MX5 Parts. While a litttle disconcerting this can failry easily be removed by polishing the mirror glass with car polish or cream paint restorer if its its really stubborn. Once cleaned, and I advise you do this before fitting then the replacement rear view mirror in an excellent like for like replacement for the original mirror. Photos attached are before I cleaned the glass.”
