The old pump started leaking at 118k miles. Ordered this one from MX5 Parts and it shipped quick! Installation wasn't difficult. The only problem I had was getting the stupid bottom plastic cover off. The bolts that mazda used were cheap and got corroded so they ended up braking off and made it extremely difficult to take off the bottom. Other than that everything was smooth sailing :)

My old water pump was leaking so bought this one as replacement. very good part and was deliverd next day as usual. however very dificult to fit as you need to remove cam belt, move the alternator, remove lots of hoses and casing just to get to the pump! unless your a good diy mechanic and are confident to remove the cambelt and get the timing right then i wouldnt really atempt this as it is quite indepth. would sugest changing the cambelt when you do this as you have to take the old one of anyway. Have had no problems with any of the parts from here and have fast delivery and cheaper than main dealer! if u want more tips on changing this part visit http://www.miata.net/garage/water_pump.html as this is very useful.
