IL Motorsport in Germany have taken the design of the Mk1 scuff plates and using high quality stainless steel have created a scuff plate for the Mk4 with added lights that will turn on when doors are opened.The lights will automatically switch off when doors are closed, they will also dim to save your battery when doors are open for longer periods.These scuff plates are easy to install through the use of double sided 3M tape and 2 screws with locknuts.Fits all 1.5 & 2.0L Mk4 models, 2015> including the new RF model.

“Update, after 7000 miles one of the lights is now not working so it appears the quality is not as good as I first thought. They also scratch really easy.”

“Got some help from MX5 owners club and my sills are now illuminated. If you use plug 2 (closest to engine) and connect red Wire of relay to the light green wire (front of plug 2 closest to you) and the black relay wire to the Black and blue wire on plug 2 (5 terminals along from green) you’ll have illuminated scuff plates.”

“Fitted a set of these today, relatively easy to fit and look nice. Not able to illuminate them yet because the instructions did not appear to match the wiring of the two connectors in my ND2. Waiting email response on how to connect them up.”
