We are pleased to now have in stock these 100% plug and play reversing camera kits courtesy of IL Motorsport in Germany. The camera has a 170 degree viewing angle and displays a very clear and full colour image on the centre display when reverse gear is engaged. The camera display offers a 720 x 480HD resolution and a 30fps frame rate, and can also be used when dark due to the night vision functionality. On the display you get distance reference grid lines and a centre line for easy parking. When fitted, the camera itself is very inconspicuous and can only be seen when crouching right down under the rear of the car. Being plug and play the installation of this kit is extremely easy, and even comes with a 22mm hole saw to drill the hole in the bumper for the camera. Click here for a very good fitting video!Fits all Mk4 models 2015> including the RF.Please Note: Although this kit is easy to fit, as the video shows much of the interior trim has to be removed. Although this may look daunting it too is surprisingly easy and as noted by several member of the team here, if our Operations Manager can fit one in less than 45 minutes then anyone can! Please also note, one thing the video doesn't show is that you must disconnect the cars battery before fitting the camera.

fitted to my 2.0 sport nav RF and used https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUoW6bCRQME as guide. Very straight forward and took a steady 2.5 hrs most of which was back and forwards watching video to ensure no smashed clips. ran wire along the passenger side and only other thing i did that video does not mention as different side of car (rhd) was to remove the alloy fuel pipe protection plate in boot to assist in getting the wire through from cab area and other thing to mention is there is no need to drill foam behind bumper on uk spec cars camera fits straight in. very pleased with results.

I used a video on YouTube by the Flyin' Miata to install my camera and found it very helpful. If you take your time and follow the advice you should be able complete the install without a problem.Be careful were you feed the wire behind the dash as there are quite a few unfinished metal edges that could chafe the wires. To make life easier have a piece of old coat hanger or garden wire to help feed the wire from the cabin to the boot area.I'm chuffed with the rear view camera and would recommend it to anyone, all at a fraction of the genuine Mazda cost.Great service from MX5 parts too, ordered my camera on Friday morning and received it Saturday morning

5 of 5 Stars! It took me 55 minutes to install, and about 30 minutes telling my wife how hard it was!! not ... fantastic piece of kit at a fraction of the mazda cost. would definitely recommend, and very easy to install.

It took me longer than 45 minutes to install, probably 2.5 hrs, but I took it slowly, and following the video, it was as straightforward as they described. The end result is really good, and seemlessly integrates with the rest of Mazda Connect. Highly recommended.

Great mod that is an easy job to fit. It's a plug and play unit, which took about 2 hours, being careful not to damage any panels, best not to put the sticker on like the video as it's upsidedown, and completely removing the metal fuel pipe guard in the boot and shining a torch down from the front to the back will make feeding the wire easy.

Excellent, had it a year so far (4000miles) no problems with it. Took 2 hours to fit although most of that was checking with the video as to how to take the panels off. I can't believe Mazda don't fit one as standard it would cost almost nothing in a new car.

After 3hrs installing, the image was very crooked while the camera was level. Had a choice, try to exchange it, or try to fix it. Removed the screws, pried it apart. It was potted in a black rubber compound intended to keep it waterproof which it would have. Picked out the rubber and straightened the camera then re-potted it. The lines would be correct if mounted higher but on the mx-5 as you know, it's low, so they are nowhere near the width of the car. Overall an ok camera, but could be much better. There are two jumpers, that I think might turn off the lines if cut but couldn't find any info on that.

Very happy with purchase, fraction of the cost of genuine Mazda item and peace of mind when reversing with the hood up especially if it’s raining, had a local specialist fit it as I didn’t have the time but due to quick fitting time at very reasonable cost, works really well and clear.
