Great quality and beautiful looking chrome handbrake button from IL Motorsport in Germany. Replaces the original.Fits all Mk4 models, 2015> including the RF.Fitting Tip: To fit this you will need to remove the handbrake sleeve. This is easily done by grabbing it with both hands and giving it a sharp twist to loosen it, it will then just slide off. Unscrew the original button, screw on the chrome one and slide the sleeve back on.

Have just fitted this to my new Mx5 Homura, it seems such a little thing but has really worked in the cabin and looks a lot more up market. Regarding fitting, it felt initially that the handbrake handle cover was never going to come off but with a lot of perseverance and wd40 and gentle moments side to side it started to move, donÆt be alarmed when you unscrew the old black plastic button that you hear some metal grinding noises, it is just the spring that is under the button releasing tension. I was alarmed the spring would jump out but it did not, I did take the advice of others and used a pair of pliers with padding to finally tighten the new button and overall very pleased with the end result and well worth 15 minutes of my time to do.

Until you actually own one of these beautifully crafted hand brake buttons, you cannot comprehend what a magnificent item it is. Firstly, it represents great value for money, as its virtually impossible to have such a fine quality item manufactured here in the Uk, for the price. It has a beautiful weight to it, and an outstanding chrome finish, it represents superb value considering how well machined and produced it is. On paper, it looks pricey for such a small item, but all considering, it represents outstanding value for money, and blimey does it look the business inside your MX. If your putting off buying one, thinking its too expensive, and cant be up to much, think again. When you actually see it, and look at the outstanding quality, you will realise it represents remarkable value. Get one, im convinced you will be blown away by the precision engineering that went into making it, and the chrome finish is off the scale. If there is any one item that is guaranteed to transform the interior of your chariot, this is it. Blow the cash, and bin the horrid nasty bit of black plastic that is the current hand brake button, your car deserves something of incredible quality.

Just try and get a machine shop to produce an identical one, here in the Uk, and as we know, chrome plating is very expensive, especially of this quality. Twenty bucks, it represents remarkable value, and in hindsight, if i had known how beautifully manufactured it is, i would have paid more, but i am mighty impressed with it. It has a beautiful weight to it, and the envelope it arrived in, felt weighty, i can tell you it was exciting opening it, to examine what i had bought. The chrome finish is sublime, as is the quality of the internal threads required to tighten it onto the hand brake lever, it represents superb value considering how well machined and produced it is. This seems a bit expensive for what it is, but it is definitely a worthwhile enhancement to the cabin. Very high quality, heavy chromed steel. As to fitting, you will need to tease off the leather gaiter from the back of the handle and the handle grip is just an interference fit on to the mechanical handbrake. Twisting it by a mm or two in opposite directions whilst pushing the grip from the back with your thumb will gradually shift it. The original plastic button was a very tight fit to unscrew and needed a mole wrench, using a strip of rubber not to mark it in case it needed to a be re-used. The new one went on much easier using some WD40 on the thread and only needing a wrench for the final half a turn (protected again with rubber strip). I sprayed some silicone spray on to the brake handle and inside the grip and it slid back on in seconds before teasing the gaiter back over the end of the handle.
