Supplied to us by IL Motorsport in Germany, this 64mm diameter performance throttle body provides dramatically increased levels of airflow, in turn delivering more torque and horsepower throughout the entire rev range. Made from top quality aluminium and supplied with all the required fittings and gaskets, this throttle body is suitable for use on all normally aspirated vehicles as well as those with forced induction. It also uses the original throttle cable and sensor for an easy installation.
Fits all 1.8L Mk1 models, 1993>1998
Please Note: This does not have water inlet or outlet connections so you will to bypass these by connecting the air valve with the oil cooler.

“This was not the easy installation that is advertised. It does use the water inlet and outlet from your old throttle body which you will need to rebuild onto the bottom of the shiny new unit. You'll need to find shallow headed bolts (not supplied) to fix the new lower plate to the main casting, and reuse the complex rubber seal within (careful not to damage). When fitted, the air bypass for tick over speed leaks air where the casting mounts to the plenum and you'll need to block it off. The inlet pipe no longer fits the larger throttle opening and you will need to adapt the pipework. Otherwise it all worked fine and I look forward to testing it at Silverstone GP circuit next week (rolling road soon to see what extra bhp and torque it has).”
