“This unit offers a significant upgrade over the standard unit if you have an iPhone.Via Apple Car Play you can bring your MK3 up to date with SatNav and hands free calling.Note that this unit needs a wired connection to your phone to access Car Play, something that MX5parts did not realise when fitting. However the chaps fixed their mistake by coming to my house to finish off the job - thank you for that gents.I replaced the centre drinks holder with the larger capacity console which I consider well worth doing as it means the wired connection for the phone is entirely hidden and the iPhone sits out of the way whilst driving.The the unit has a GPS receiver although I am not sure this is needed as I think there must be one in the phone. The microphone is very useful, however, as it enables you to use Siri whilst driving. You can simply ask Siri to get you to a location, and the Nav (Google Maps) and voice instructions start up without you needing to take your hands off the wheel.All in, with labour, the double din face plate, and the centre console upgrade it is about an £800 job but for me it makes the car a daily driver and means I can now run the MX5 as my only car.”
