Amazing quality, fully tailored, indoor and outdoor car cover made by IL Motorsport in Germany. The material is fully waterproof, and the cover features an intergrated draw string around the bottom; a window for the rear number plate (for countries that require it to be visible when the vehicle is parked); all supplied in a handy storage bag for when not in use. It also has a large IL Motorsport logo on the the bonnet area and an additional "Roadster" logo at the bottom of each of the doors.Fits all MX5 Models, 1989>

Looks really nice and easy to put on. But cord broke almost immediately (within days). We ended up spending 30 minutes threading a much better quality cord through the entire cover (and that isn't easy). Numberplate clear window is pretty pointless on a UK car (wrong position), but hey ho. You also have to remove the aerial before you can fit this. Also watch the zip... the flap behind it has to be in the right place to protect the paint.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the Car Cover. We're pleased to hear that you found it looks nice and easy to put on. We're sorry to learn that the cord broke so quickly and appreciate your feedback about the clear window and the installation challenges. We always aim for our products to provide the best experience possible and we'll certainly take your comments on board. Thank you, MX5parts

I expected good quality from IL Motorsport and was not disappointed. The service from Mx5parts was excellent, they are a great resource for an Mx5 owner.

SUPERB COVER. SECOND ONE THAT I HAVE PURCHASED. FIRST COVER LASTED THREE YEARS AND SURVIVED SOME VERY SEVERE WEATHER. EXCELLENT FIT AND FOR THE PRICE I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Owned this car cover for almost 3 years now, could not be happier with it. Its survived severe weather conditions. With the first time it even moving in the wind was today because I didn't correctly fit it. The design of how it sits around the wings mirrors ment it didn't blow away either. Was really unsure about spending the money on this at first but it was well worth it. It fits over my widebody mx5 with ease, I park my car under a tree as its the only space I have and this protects all year round from sap, bird mess and leaves. 100% recomened if you don't garage your car

Really pleased with this cover, it fits my Mk1 S Special perfectly including the bootlid spoiler. Just spread the cover over the car, close the zip at the left rear corner, fasten the plastic buckle at the base of the zip which prevents the zip from peeling open in the wind, and tighten up the drawstring at the same place; this results in a snug fit with the cover tucked in under the front and rear bumpers and almost (but not quite) touching the ground at the sides. There is even a little external pocket to contain the excess drawstring cord so it doesn't just lie on the ground. The mirror pockets are elasticated at the neck so they grip the car quite tightly, which really helps to keep the central part of the cover under control and minimises it 'ballooning' in windy conditions. So far it has kept the car clean and dry even on a fairly windy day. There is some cover movement in strongish winds but I think this will help to minimise the inevitable condensation. I've only had it 3 weeks so cannot yet comment on its longevity, but so far I'm very happy with it.

Could be great, but not as practical as it could be, to be honest.Decent fit, you have to cut a hole for the aerial but that's fine, no problem. Very nice cover cover for storage in the summer, too. Looks great, too, looks like a McLaren F1 car cover would look like - shiny silver, not inconspicuous. However, the first gust of wind broke the flimsy plastic drawstring clip and lifted the cover from the car - if I hadn't have got to it when I did, I'd have been chasing it up the road. Had to knot the drawstring to keep the cover on the car. Can't see it lasting long.

I've had 2 of these covers, the first replaced as it leaked, the second leaked also ( at the seams I believe ) . I've kept it as it at least keeps the dirt off, and as I have a mark 1 MX5 the wind can get under it to dry it out.MX 5 Parts were as helpful as they could be, but in my opinion the cover leaves a lot to be desired.
