“Either they've changed the material, or I've discovered a knack for getting these on. Assembly was done while the rack was off the car, which probably made it easier too. Having taken off the nuts on the rod ends, the smaller hole just pushes into place with a little twisting and grease. Getting the larger hole on was trickier, but if you get most of the lip on, then grip all the way around that and push the last bit over (instead of pulling just the bit that's off) you can do it without tools and without massive effort. Took 10 minutes on a cold day without warming the rubber or using tools, and most of that was figuring out the knack for getting the bigger end in place. I reused the spring clips on the smaller end, but all clips were supplied had I needed them.”

“Have to agree with the other reviewers I’m afraidHard thermoplastic which needs to be heated with a blow lamp to soften, if I hadn’t had some exhaust tube mandrills for enlarging pipes I wouldn’t have bothered to fit them, the passenger side of the rack on a PAS car doesn’t have a bevel so they won’t slide over, they have to be the right size.Also the metal clips to secure them are a joke, I used therapsidsMuch better and cheaper aftermarket kits available”
