20/05/2011.Was a bit concerned about these as I didn't want my car to ride too hard (roads are crap here)but wanted it lower. I had them fitted £120 and i'm very pleased. The car looks awsome lots of people look at it, it looks so much meaner and as for the ride...it's not as bad as I thought. Avoid anything big at speed and your fine, it's just a bit firmer but well worth the sacrifice.

Ride height - Mk1I have just fitted these to the rear wheels so far (just to get it through MOT) and they are a bit on the hard side to be fair. Saying this, the car already feels more planted on the road and the back end seems to stick like a barnacle around corners (the expected trade-off: comfort/cornering).I have a '96 Mk1, which I understand has a slightly higher ride height than other years, I also have 17'' aftermarket alloys, but if anyone wants to see a comparison in ride height with and without these springs then see link below.Product and service: 5 stars as always - MX5parts are always excellent - Excellent springs: look good and drive very well.http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/ff359/NickVenner/Latest%20Car/Sideview1.jpg

I haven't fitted them yet so a neither good nor bad review. Just a quick tip - the longer springs marked with an H at the end of the code printed on the coil are for the rears (H = hinten - german for behind) and the shorter ones with V at the end of the serial number are for the fronts (obviously) V=vorne. Also - this is not a hard job at all so save yourself a lot of money and do it yourself. The satisfaction is well worth the additional effort and you don't need a huge array of tools - spring compressors (about £15) and ball joint separator (about the same). Just remember that if you are considering doing springs then look at the state of your shocks - if they might fail or you are thinking of upgrading anytime soon then do it all at the same time - it saves a whole lot of faff! Buy new shocker boots at the same time as your old ones will almost certainly be perished into about 20 litle rubber rings around the damper shaft. When you separate the ball joint, be careful not to mess up the thread on the bolt or crap your pants when the two parts separate - it sounds like a gun!

Had these fitted to my sons K Reg Eunos, along with Bilstein dampers ( second hand e bay) and new bump stops plus and also front and rear chassis underbody braces along with an under bonnet Front chassis brace. (make sure you remeber to get the front mounting gaskets) The car rides on 17" ALLOYS with Yokohama tyres. The handeling is transformed to put it mildly yes it is bumpy and the local speed bumps are a pain , but it is now low and the steering very responsive, down side is mainly you hit a pothole you do know about it. The chassis is now very stiff but it is like driving a racing car ( I have done some motorsport in the past). Personally it is too stiff for for me but for a car mad 18 year old it is like a Go Kart. Personally I think it has become worse in the wet but on a dry day and good road it goes wonderfully . My favourite mechanic Dave fitted it all fro us and came back with the interesting fact that the front springs where mixture one correct and one that was clearly the longer back one, so the car had been bodged at some time in the past. Explains the front end wander next job fit the Veilside front bumper , then get the alignment and tracking checked over ! Many thanks as usual to MX5 spare all parts always arrived quickly and also thansk fro the tecgnical advice as the first front coil removed by Dave was the incorrect was the incorrect long one which caused him soem head scrtaching and phone call. I will post this on the front and back braces section as well, doing all at once is a good idea. Chris Meadows
