“Delivered next day, could see where courier was on his round by Interlink website, very good! Programed module on PC, then fitted, all within an hour. Plug is tricky to disengage as others say, I pressed the release catch in with a little screwdriver blind, then pulled the plug out. My module is in an old sock tucked into the metal work just behind the access panel, nice and snug. Module and roof works a treat, cheers!”

“This is nothing against the SmartTOP controller. This product works perfectly etc.This is a small warning for others. I, idiotically, have had this set to allow the roof to be retracted at up to 40mph. I did this on a windy day, and the roof has since been damaged. The quote for repair is at a minimum £2000 in parts + labour with a potential for this to require further parts up to about £8000-9000If you get this, be careful with being able to raise/lower the roof as you go along as if you are not sensible you can cause expensive damage.The SmartTOP controller is great, but be careful at what speed / in what winds you use it for raising/lowering the roof as you go along.”

“Finally gave in and decided to order this a couple of days ago. It arrived first thing the next morning, but then again everything I've ordered from here always has.I downloaded the SmartTOP configuration software as mentioned within the URL on the box and in conjunction with the supplied feature matrix found configuration to be very simple.Installation time was mostly taken up with trying to get the original clip out from the socket, as the clip is VERY stiff. I found that lowering the roof slightly (and so opening the roof flap) made the job far simpler as it allowed me to see precisely where the catch mechanism was. Once the original clip was unclipped, attaching the supplied harness and the SmartTOP controller was trivial and that was that.Tidied up, keys in, unlatched, and that's that. It's been a couple of days and I've been absolutely loving the fact that I no longer have to sit still for what felt like an eternity (though in actuality was only about 5-10 seconds) for the roof to lower/raise.I wish I'd got one of these when I first got the car now!”

“As normal MX5Parts delivered the day after I ordered, can thank them enoughFantastic product, but a little pricey!Check for firmware up grades online, while you are there, there is a tab which is setting. You can program the module before you fit itThere is a fantastic wright up with photos on how to install on Miata.netFollowed there advise, took 10 minutes to fit and worked first timeWell chuffed :-)”

“FANTASTIC SERVICE from MX5 Parts - Got one for my Powershift, very easy to fit. As others have said the hardest bit is removing the connector from the Mazda controller box. Just look at the harness that comes with the Smarttop to see exactly how the latch works, you need to get a good press on it to make sure the latch pushes down fully. Took. Is it worth the money?? For me yes, makes the roof operation simpler and takes away the stupid safety restrictions I think car manufacture have to follow, no need to worry about “is the hand break on? I'm I rolling into a parking space?” and not having to hold onto the buttons is a real bonus. I’ve set mine to auto open on releasing the centre roof latch, works a treat.”

“I have just installed this in my 2008 sport , so easy to fit on problem programed on laptop first for the settings i wanted .works a treat cost should be lower but well worth it”

“I agree with the comment about removing the Mazda fitted plug. I found moving the cable routing bracket aided access. Very quick delivery and installed in 30minutes. Works exactly as described thanks.”

“I have this installed in my 2006 RC, very simple to install (apart from one plug in the system on the car that is difficult to undo.. but persevere!) and its a godsend! does just what it says and easy to disable for the times you just dont want the dealer to know its there ;-). A little pricey toy for the car but makes those waits for the roof to come down a thing of the past!”
