The Audio Link USB MP3 Player Integration Kit will revolutionize the way you listen to music in your late-model MX-5! Simply plug in any USB flash drive or USB external hard drive (externally powered) and the unit will play any MP3s stored on the drive through your car's factory stereo system. The unit will automatically turn on when you start your car, and will even resume playing right where you left off. It allows you to use your steering wheel controls to change songs and it also features a 1/8" stereo jack to allow you to input other sources, such as satellite radio. This newer version also features a built in SD card slot.Features: Exclusive built-in high quality MP3 decoder. Power on automatic play function. No battery required. Direct connection with CD-quality sound. 1/8" stereo jack for other auxilliary input. Allows the use of the steering wheel controls to change songs. SD Card readerIMPORTANT! BEFORE removing the head unit and plugging this device in, you must first disconnect the vehicles battery. Not only is this for your safety when removing the stereo, but also in some circumstances, failiure to disconnect the battery can make the audio link malfunction.Click here for fitting and operating instructionsPlease Note: If your car is not one of the Mazda MX-5's listed above, we can not warrant this part or its suitability for use on your vehicle. You would be able to return the unit for a full refund (excluding postage costs) as long as it is returned in perfect condition.Fits all Mk3.5 models only, 2009>Please Note: These units do NOT currently work with cars factory fitted with either the MP3 or 6 Disc Multichanger head units. If you are in any doubt as to which unit you have fitted, please contact a member of the sales team with your vehicle details and we will check for you.Fitting tip: If you find after connecting the Audiolink that the only way you can hear anything is with the volume turned right up, simply unplug the small jack plug connector from the back of the stereo unit, or put a dummy plug in the socket on the front (although that doesn't look great so the first suggestion is probably better!) and that should solve the problem.

Excellent Excellent product. I fitted it very easily by removing glove box and plugged the unit into the socket on the back of radio and secured unit in glove box with velro double sided tape so unit can be easily removed if necessary. The Mazda equivalent unit is far more expensive and works in the same way but does have fewer ipod versions listed as compatible. I have since added the blutooth option [from Audiolink] for this unit and can now use the blutooth function for both phone calls and to play music from my HTC phone, this is a fantastic piece of kit. Buy it!

I had one of these units fitted by MX5 Parts it works really well much better than the type that uses a radio station to play, however our Mk3.5 MX5 is an Auto model and a certain amount of inventive thinking was needed to place the unit so that gears could be selected without fouling the MP3 unit. It all worked out very well in the end and of course the guys at Portsmouth are always willing and happy to help....which is why I use them. Thanks Guys Chris
