It's finally here! Now we have the iPod / iPhone Audiolink for the Mk3.5!Compatible with All Ipod's with dock connector including iPod Nano (all generations) iPod Touch, iPod Classic and the Apple iPhone (2G, 3G, 3GS & 4), Ipod Video 30GB, 60GB 80GB & 120GB. iPod (3,4,5 Generation), Ipod Photo, Ipod Mini, Ipod U2.This 'Audiolink' plugs into the back of the Mazda Modular Audio System via the supplied wiring harnes and allows you to connect ANY portable audio device, iPod, Minidisc, CD Player, MP3 Player, whatever you want! The Audio Link iPod Integration Kit will revolutionize the way you listen to music in your late-model MX-5! Simply plug in your iPod and listen to it through your car's factory stereo system. The unit will keep your iPod charged, automatically turn on your iPod when you start your car, and will even resume playing right where you left off. It allows you to use your steering wheel controls to change songs and it also features a 3.5mm stereo jack plug to allow you to input other sources, such as satellite radio. The kit includes the Audio Link control unit and a plug-and-play wiring harness and a stereo adaptor harness.Features:Compatible with any iPod with a dock connector on the bottom, including iPod mini, iPod nano,iPod photo, and iPod video & iPhone.Power on automatic play function and power off automatic pause.Automatic pause when switching to FM, AM, CD, or TAPE/MD.No battery required.Keeps your iPod charged at all times.Direct connection with CD-quality sound.3.5mm stereo jack for other auxilliary input.Use your steering wheel controls to change songs.SUPPORTS UP TO 9 PLAYLISTS!Installation is easy, but does require removal of your vehicle's head unit from the center console. IMPORTANT! BEFORE removing the head unit and plugging this device in, you must first disconnect the vehicles battery. Not only is this for your safety when removing the stereo, but also in some circumstances, failiure to disconnect the battery can make the audio link malfunction. Once the head unit is removed, plug the supplied wiring adaptor harness into the back of the stereo and into the loom in the car, then plug the Audiolink into the remaining socket on the harness. The Audio Link wiring can then be routed to your glove box, down the center console to the cupholders, or wherever would be most convenient for you.Latest version now works with ALL head units in the Mk3.5, all functions, track forward, back, battery charge etc. (also works from the steering wheel controls). Please note, these do NOT work with Mk3 6 disc changer head units. Please Note: If your car is not one of the Mazda MX-5's listed above, we can not warrant this part or its suitability for use on your vehicle. You would be able to return the unit for a full refund (excluding postage costs) as long as it is returned in perfect condition.Fitting tip: If you find after connecting the Audiolink that the only way you can hear anything is with the volume turned right up, simply unplug the small jack plug connector from the back of the stereo unit, or put a dummy plug in the socket on the front (although that doesn't look great so the first suggestion is probably better!) and that should solve the problem. Click here for fitting and operating instructions. Please Note: These units do NOT currently work with cars factory fitted with either the MP3 or 6 Disc Multichanger head units. If you are in any doubt as to which unit you have fitted, please contact a member of the sales team with your vehicle details and we will check for you.

Thanks to the guys at MX5 parts for getting the unit back to me the next day! I tried to fit the harness myself but had trouble with the volume and had to turn it up to max to hear anything, got some advice from MX5 parts, and thanks to Jocken, all is now OK.A bit of advice if you buy one,the black wire IS an earth, and make sure you make a really good chassis earth, and disconnect the auxilliary connections from behind the panel by the seat heater switches and all will be well. The i pod works really well and all the functions work as described, good bit of kit, thanks MX5 parts.
