Thanks for all the reviews stating how to fit this, as at first it doesnt look that obvious. As the others say just lubricate the gear shaft and then pull the gaiter over the top, you have to destroy the old one to get it off, but thats not a problem as you dont need it.I got this as part of the gearlever boot kit, so done this, the plastic cup and upper gaiter. both my gaiters were shot and i had all the symptons, put quite a bit of gear oil in the cup as well.usual superb MX5 parts service as well

As always, 5 stars for mx5parts.But only 2 stars for the Boot.I bought this boot in 2009 and in 2013 is already super damaged. Mazda should be ashamed of the durability of the upper and lower boots.

Slipped on easy enough, old one was torn, doesn't feel any different, I changed the upper and lower boots, plus the nylon hula hoop, might as well while your in there.

Replaced both Upper, Lower and Nylon cup on my Wife's 5, checked my Boots and they too were split , so ordered, delivered and fitted to my 5. Much easier the second time, less cursing.

Easy to change. Cut old one off, slide new one down the shaft of the gear stick. Make sure you put the nylon bush back on first though!! getting this back off will be a nightmare if you forget!

Bought this as part of the upper, lower and nylon cup kit. Everything was easy to fit. My mechanism was bone dry and hard to shift. Now its a dream. Thanks mx5parts.

just the job, bought this along with nylon cup and upper boot, took about 2 hours to fit although this was my first attempt at diy on a mx5, quality product, top tip use a big syringe available from a chemist shop to suck up the old turret oil if you have any in there! Arrived quickly in post.
