Headlamp Set Chrome With Angel Eye MX5 Mk2.5 2000>2005 Reviews

3.4 Rating 8 Reviews
Read MX5parts Reviews

Great quality and stunning looking set of replacement angel eye headlamps for the Mk2.5.  Features twin headlamps on a chrome background, a stylish LED "Angel Eye" ring around each one, and three super bright leds at the top that can be wired in to act as a daytime running lamp. Supplied complete with main and dip beam bulbs (you use the existing indicator bulb and socket), these DOT approved and road legal lamps will transform the look of your car. If you require replacement bulbs for these lamps they are the same as a Mk2.5 fog lamp which can be found here!Fits all right hand drive Mk2.5 models only, 2001>2004 up to chassis number 413680.Please note: If your vehicle has headlamp adjusters, you will NOT be able to use them with these lamps. Adjustment can still be made manually though for MOT purposes. Also, a small amount of wiring is involved when fitting these, so if you are not completely confident with vehicle electrics, please contact an auto electrican before you start. Also, the large fitted photos are of the black version of these lamps.Fitting Tip: When fitting these lamps, the angel eye rings MUST be wired into the side light circuit and NOT the dipped beam. If you are in any doubt, please contact an auto electrican for advise before you start.

Easy to fit and look great, angel eyes are white, not blue as in the previous post, the dipped beam is quite dull but the main beam gives full brightness. The description lists that they can be adjusted for the MOT but I cannot see how as the lights are fixed. in general, I would say a good replacement for the fogged-up originals at half the price. MOT should not be a problem but time will tell.

You need to be aware that the LED lamps that illuminate the angel eyes on these lights are *blue* in colour, not white. Just had my car MOT\'d and was told that they are *illegal* as supplied. MX5Parts please take note! Fortunately my MOT tester was friendly and just gave me a verbal warning, but I will investigate how to swap the coloured lights out asap as the police are likely to take a dim view of this. Thus the 1 star review.Other than that these lights are really good. Fit and finish is a match for the original lamps and they look excellent - much more modern. Fitting is a bit of a pain - I found I had to remove the screw/taps on the inside of the wheelarches in order to have enough movement of the bumper to get the old lights out and the new ones in. You also have to remove the bolts which secure the bumper at the front. Wiring is also a bit of a nuisance for the aforementioned angel eyes as it\'s not a straight swap and you need be able to do some simple wiring. Also note that the lamps are supplied with bulbs, but they are not the normal HB3/4 bulbs that are normal for the MX-5. MX5parts please advise to what they are so replacements can be order when necessary!Currently I\'ve not wired up the three extra LEDs, but may do so in the future.Other than the issue with the blue colour the lamps deserve a 4 or 5 star - MX5parts please advise on the illumination asap as this is a serious issue.Editors Note: We have forwarded your review on to the supplier for their comments, however these lamps are SAE marked and therefore road legal for use across Europe. As soon as we hear back from the supplier we will of course be in touch. Also, as suggested we have updated the product page with bulb types required for these lamps which are a standard H1.

just a follow up to my previous comments i bought these on 03/05/11 had them fitted but drivers side main beam shuddered when switched on mx5 did replace the light for me but now the passenger side halo lights will only half light up and it coming away from the beam very expensive lights that only half workEditors Note: All parts we sell at mx5parts are covered by a minimum 12 month warranty and a member of our customer services team will be in touch to discuss your problem. The halo lamps are fitted with small bulbs so I would imagine oneof these has failed and is why only half is illuminated.

I like the black eyes but I don't like the black version that looks too plastic. I bought the chrome version and spray paint the interior with transparent black paint that retains the reflective look. When lights are up at night the car looks really cool and no one will be able to figure out your miata from the rear mirror! The quality of the projected light pattern of the dip beam varies with the quality of the H1 bulb. That should be improved if it was designed with H3 bulbs. The rating I give 3/5.- I cannot exactly fit the light into the position that matches the fender and bonnet like the original lights, I have to try to adjust the fender but didn't help much.- The high beam light components centre-line obviously offset from the high-beam light openings that look a bit odd.- Replacement of the angle eye leds need to remove the whole headlight to access from the bottom, and there is no reference on where to get that replacement.

looks great!!! smart look even when powered off....... BUT!! the Angel Eye setup blow my fuse, so now I if I keep these light I will not have any dim lights..... So for looks, its Great.. but as lights to use on a daily base forget it...Editors Note: Sorry to hear you are having problems with these lamps. Customer services will be in touch soon to try and help sort the problem. As mentioned in a previous review however, the most likely cause is that the angel eyes have been wired into the dipped beam circuit and not the side lights.

Very easy to fit, watch wiring up the three LEDs across the top they will blow your fuse if you try them into your dip lights, so did not bother after that.....look great when fitted and well smart even when powered off....... comes with bulbs and clips to wire up....again rather grand service from the guys at MX5 Parts
