KG Works Rear Spoiler Mazda MX5 Mk1 Reviews

2.9 Rating 7 Reviews
Read MX5parts Reviews

The KG Works Boot Spoiler is the perfect "medium" for the MX5 trunk. The smaller spoiler is too, well, small. The larger "whale tail" spoiler is too big and looks out of place on anything but a 747!This spoiler creates a more aggressive look without looking out of place and will totally transform your ride. The attention to the styling details shows with perfect fitment around the third brake light as well as places for you to install decorative rivet heads to give it an added flare without causing irreparable damage to your boot lid.Fits all Mazda MX5 Mk1 models, 1989>1998

Recieved a scratched up part. Has some nasty scratches on the top. Edges looks like it's been sanded down, but that is also the area of contact to the boot. Obviously this part has been returned by someone who has fitted it for a week or so. Contacted sales and they refused to respond to the scratches, saying it needs paintwork from factory.

I am a regular customer with mx5 parts and have always had great service! I purchased this item new from another customer who bought it here but decided against fitting. I want to let others know that this is a really great item and makes the plain boot lid into something special! Very simple but clever concealed fixings make it a quick job to install with no damage to the boot lid. 3m tape can be used as well but not necessary. I utilised the mouldings on the spoiler for bolt heads to match my wide arch fixings, great match. Sprayed the spoiler first with satin black which really looks good but could be fitted as it is. Definitely not necessary to blend into the boot lid, looks better as a separate "bolt on" style. Highly recommended and I feel good value when compared to some fibreglass ones available.

got this last Christmas and it was the easiest thing I've ever fitted (minus the rivet option).Blend it? who would want to do such a thing? give it a once over with a matt black and boom your donewhy the 4 out of 5.... well if you don't properly set it up if will slowly rub the paint work on the sides so some tape put under the wing would not be a bad idea

After reading the review on here of the spoiler I was sort of thrown, but rang the guys at mx5parts anyway, and they confirmed that the problem was an isolated case and that they were fine, so i thought id risk it. It turned up and Fitted immediatley, I just wish there was something more substantial then 3m tape and 2 grub nuts but its rock solid still and fit perfectly, Why anyone would need it blending i dont know as thats not really the point of this spoiler.

DO NOT BUY THIS SPOILER.Took it to a body shop as I wanted it properly fitted and sprayed.Body shop said it would need a lot of blending in on the top of the boot lid, as it is not very accurately cut at the top edge and sits high in the middle regardless of how you position it on the boot. So although the instructions say you can self fit, it does not match the top curviture of the boot lid and would look terrible. It also looks very fragile the way it is two pieces glued together.Due to the fact I am not convinced it would look good blended in, it lives in the box in my spare room.Spend your money on something else. Service/delivery, as always, excellent.Editors Note: Sorry to hear this item did not live up to your expections. We will be certain to investigate the matter and pass your comments on to the manufacturer for their opinion. In the mean time, as per our returns policy, you are more than welcome to send the item back to us for a full refund.
