Genuine Mazda PartReplacement rain rail / water curtain. This part sits behind the carpet on the rear shelf and collects the rain and passes it to the hoppers behind the seatbelt towers. The original part is made from hard plastic and rubber. The hard plastic can break and allow the rail to leak. This replacement has been re-designed by Mazda and is now made completely from rubberised plastic.Fits all Mk1, Mk2 & 2.5 models 1989>2005

“Fast delivery: came 1 day before scheduled!Better than the original: more stronger, flexible and durability.And easy to fit: I changed the hood myself.The only problem is the price: it nearly cost me the same as the hood!”

“Very happy with speedy delivery. The rail is thicker, tougher, more flexible and generally better than original. It really does remind me of a home drainage product which is fine but wow its expensive for what it is but Mazda have us on that and it is what it is. Only thing I'm more bothered by is there are no fitting instructions and I just assumed there would be so that's the main reason for the average score.”

“Finally realised my old rain rail was the source of a constant water leak into the boot after gently pouring water down the back window and watchng it drip through, so took the plunge and ordered one of these. A doddle to fit if you already have an aftermarket hood; just undo the bolts behind the parcel shelf carpet, pull off the metal bands and the whole roof and old rail pulls loose. Easy to resite the new rail and just torque up the bolts in the correct sequence (See http://www.miata.net/garage/rainrail.html), fix the carpet back in place and hey presto, my Mk1 has a dry boot. Much better material than the original brittle plastic version that had cracked”

“Bought one of these in August 2009. Superfast delivery and fitted by a pro. Marked down as I think it\'s really expensive for what it is. I think MX5parts must have a massive \'mark up\' on this bit of kit!Editors Note: The cost of these has gone up considerably in recent months, however please bear in mind that this is a Genuine Mazda part, and even at this price, we are still nearly £60.00 cheaper than a UK dealer.”

“FOUND TO MY DISMAY THAT MY 99 MK2 HAD HAD A NEW HOOD FITTED BY MAZDA MAIN DEALER SOME TIME AGO AND THEY HAD NOT REFITTED THE RAIN RAIL.ORDERED NEW RAIL ON FRI SAT DELIVERED TUE .CANT ASK FOR BETTER.RAIL FITS PERFECTLY.TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF TO FIT.ONLY TOOLS REQUIRED OLD FORK TO REMOVE CARPET CLIPS AND 10mm SOCKET.MAZDA DEALERS TAKE NOTE.”
