Door Lock Release SpringQuite often these break on the Mk1 rendering the door handle inoperable, and as they were never available from Mazda, the only option was to replace the complete lock assembly. Well, not anymore! We have had these little springs manufactured here in the UK to exactly the same specification as the original, right down to the tension and the 90 degree offset on the hooks. Fitting is simple, although removal of the lock mechanism is required.Fits all Mazda MX5 Mk1 models, 1989>1998

“After months of having the door trapping me in and garages telling me the central locking was shot, I purchased this from mx5 parts after a chance remark while ordering something else. They were spot on. I found the old spring in the bottom of the door. 35min job to fit. You don't have to remove the door mechanism to fit it. After disconnecting the rods from the internal handle and central locking mechanism there was enough room to get my hand in and with a bit of fiddling fit the spring. Job sorted. Just look at the picture of the full mechanism to see where it fits. Thanks MX5parts”

“Simple fix for jammed door handles. There is no need to remove the lock, you can reach in and attach the new spring with your fingers. Just need to take door card off and pull back inner plastic (what is that horrid black sticky stuff?!!)Excellent fast delivery from mx5parts as usual!”
