This standard aftermarket brake set is very good value. For a road going car they are more than adequate.

The EBC Ultimax pads are very noisy. The front and rear pads squealed all the time in my NB. A noise disappeared when pushed a brake pedal, or vice a versa, begun to squal when pushed a pedal. I have tested the sticker shims and the copper paste - no help. After two summers of driving and listening that squeal I replaced to the EBC Greenstuff in this summer. They are silent. The difference with those pads are the Greenstuff have integrated shim plates on rear pads and integrated sticker shims on front pads. The Ultimax have no shims. My advice, don´t buy the Ultimax.

Very satisfied with this brake kit. The replacement was pretty straightforward. Some troubles with pushing-in the pistons of the rear calipers but -heck- we are a bunch of amateurs :) Brake sensation has improved dramatically and the car is stopping effectively considering the terrible condition of the previous discs & pads. Very satisfied with this product, highly recommended!

Incredible value for money (coming from a motorbike background I'm used to paying £150 for a single disk!!!), and a breeze to fit assuming you can hold a spanner the right way round - I did all four wheels this morning in under three hours. Very good service from mx5parts.co.uk and as a first time user of the site, it won't be the last. Many thanks all round fellas.

Excellent value for money, the brakes now feel sharp and responsive. I'd normally order parts online as it's easier but I wanted to make sure what I was buying would 100% fit my car, so to be sure I called the Sales & Enquiries number to put my mind at rest. I asked a few genuine questions about the item and the sales advisor had abit of an attitude and little patience. This won't put me off buying from MX-5 parts again, i'll just avoid calling them and order online.

Fited to my Arctic like a glove, the fronts were perfect, the rear pads were a tad thick and the calliper took some getting over the pads and slips, despite winding the calliper piston fully in. I guess it was the combo of new disk and pads that made it difficult. That said im well impressed my car now stops when I press the pedal!
