Very simple to install. Use two improvised tools to hand - a bradawl and a tiny screwdriver from an xmas cracker worked well (watch that paintwork!!)and twist the chrome slotted cap on the wing anti-clockwise and remove together with any other trim; then pull out any remaining chrome aerial parts. Switch on the stereo until the motor stops. Feed into the aerial hole the plastic coated lead and wiggle it about until it goes past the easily feelable ledge. Switch off the stereo. The plastic coated aerial lead and metal collapsing parts should just feed in. Then re-assemble the trim. Took minutes to do. Works a treat, and the instructions included are spot on. Needs two people though as impossible to feed the aerial into the hole and switch off the stereo at the same time.

Usual 2 day delivery. Remove complete aerial from the car. Take off the back plate and remove the two plastic covers inside. Remove the broken length of cable from inside the housing and check the drive cogs still have all their teeth. Put the housing back together putting the parts back in reverse order to the order they were taken out (only 3 bits so not that hard). Fit the unit back in the car as per the supplied instructions. Now follow the supplied instructions. A little bit fiddly to get it past the guide hole (just keep trying it's all luck how long it takes). You will feel it go through and make contact with the drive cog (just make sure the drive teeth are facing the right way. The drive does not pull the aerial in quickly you have plenty of time (don't panic), though you do have to be accurate as the mast sections are pulled in. Long winded to say fantastic product. Easy DIY job for anyone.

Had to wait ages for this to come in stock, but once received it was easy to fit - just take your time and make sure you get any loose bits of the old plastic toothed drive out before trying to fit the new drive and mast. The hardest part was unscrewing the chrome cap off the outside of the car! There is no tool provided. I had to file down a pair of long nosed pliers till they were the right diameter to go in the slots. Can now lsiten to the radio again. Great service from the tech guys, a fraction of the cost of a complete new unit, and speedy delivery. 5 big stars.

When the aerial on my mark 2.5 stopped working I thought that I would have to buy a complete new unit. Then I did some research and read the reviews on MX5parts. When I removed the old unit from the car and opened it I found that the plastic drive shaft had broken away from the mast. I ordered the replacement and, as usual, the delivery time to Northern Ireland was literally 'first class'. I cleaned the housing unit, greased it and put it back in the car. Then I followed the instructions-the drive shaft fed into the housing without any problems-and I managed to complete the operation without having to ask my wife for help!! This small amount of work saved me about £100.

Took me 15 minutes to change the broken mast, had to disassemble the whole unit because the nylon cord broke from the mast. After that it was just to assemble the unit again, and have a friend turning on the radio as I pushed the mast inside the unit. Took a couple of tries, but it went straight on after! Works great now. And a lot cheaper than a full unit!!!
