Quality seems good...fitting was fiddley to say the least...getting the toothed drive strip into the scroll is the challenge...and getting it in the right position... Best to have aerial in off position (retracted)...but when I fitted mine...getting drive strip in scroll to what I thought was right position....wasn't....when I reassembled aerial unit and fitted back onto car...found aerial was sitting up approx 10mm.... It all works okay...but I really need to take it out and try to get correct position....do that another day ‍♂️

Well, what a palava. Took the old aerial out, removed broken bits of nylon chord from within, refitted aerial, got someone to turn radio on and off as per intructions, could I get the thing to catch? no chance, tried this way that way, the other way, made sure i was past the "little ledge" made sure it was right orientation. Nearly went to Halfords for a stubby. Anyway, in the end had to take the thing apart and wind it in manually. Works now though.

Fast delivery and good quality item received. It took a while for me to fit this as I had to clean out old broken bits from inside the motor but it wasnt so bad. This youtube video helps:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvqJRR7iBLE&list=PL5FB249726279E441&indexIBut the worst bit was re-threading in the nylon leader. With the radio on I could feed it down ok but when I turned the radio off it didnt pull it down. I tried for ages and it only went down an inch or so. Eventually I decided to try bending the end of the leader to give it some curve so the teeth would bend around the cogs to help feed it in. So I gently bended it so it curved in on the side with the teeth and it went in on the next attempt.

Received on the following day. Be aware that there are two types of aerial on the MK1, on one the toothed belt and aerial can be fed in from the top without removing the whole unit. This is the one described by the owners' club video. On mine the whole unit had to be removed and the aerial mast fed in from the bottom. Once I had sussed this out it worked perfectly.

The toothed cable had broken in my unit so I ended up having to take the whole mechanism apart. Should have taken a couple of JPEGs before hand .....need I say more.

one thing I found that helped no end was if you file the end of the toothed nylon part to a point ( on the non toothed side towards the teeth ) - it makes it much much easier to thread in and round in the housing. tried for quite a while to get it in with a flat end and struggled, filed the end and it went in a doddle.Cheers

I didn't seem to receive the instructions that some of the others have been mentioning so it took me a good deal longer than the 15-20mins quoted by the others.
