“Decided to go with the OEM master, the old one had lasted 30 years - so if this one does 20 years i'll be very pleased. I don't want to be on my back in the footwell swearing for a little while. I replaced the complete clutch hydraulics, including slave and new braided line between them. Improved clutch feel.”

“I had a leaking clutch master cylinder, again. Prviously I had installed a rebuild mazda oem kit from mx5-parts . That lasted about 6 years. An indication was that the car would start moving off with the clutch depressed.Pumping usually brings back the pressure if it is the slave cylinder plus there is a leak at the slave cylinder resulting in dropin the fluid in the reservoir of clutch master cylinder. If there is no leak at the slave cylinder ( visible behind the rear edge of right side tyre.), then it is the master cylinder. Pumping is usually not immediately effective in case of master cylinder. So I opted for OEM mastercylinder. I live in Pakistan so did not experiment with aftermarket one as it is very difficult to keep importing parts. Also while slave change is easy, master cylinder is an involved process crawling under the dash. Plus it involves a tedious bleeding process.”

“After noticing slight weeping from the original 29 year old master cylinder fitted to my MK 1 I replaced with MX5parts supplied Mazda part to keep originality and quality. Obviously the part fitted perfectly, and in conjunction with a new slave cylinder for good luck the clutch bite point and smoother operation was worth the small effort involved. MX also delivered the part the very next day from order, so great service thanks.”
