Don't think about any other. This is the one. The design, style, and finish are excellent. Style? It's a boot rack! Well this one is solid smooth and looks attractive. Don't waste your time. If you need a rack, this is it.

This really is a superb piece of equipment, very well made and designed to near perfection. First, read the instructions and then read them again. On the third or fourth reading, the loom details begin to make sense. With the loom in place, you will need a crimping tool to attach an AMP socket to it with the White, Grey/Black and Black in positions 1, 2 and 3. Fitting the rack is straight- forward and although the allen key for the outside fittings was supplied, a smaller one for the inside was not. Fitting was now completed. All was fine except that the rack's high level stop light did'nt work ! After many hours and one sleepless night, I found that the pre-fitted AMP plug from the rack had been incorrectly wired ! Thanks Mazda for exercising my brain and introducing me to my new best mate Liam who explained that LED systems are positive specific ! With the wires reversed, all then worked as they were designed to. I am delighted with my now fully functioning rack which really does look extremely smart and very retro 1960's. I will, however, be using a Boot Bag with my rack. Unlikely to be carrying a wicker picnic hamper, but never say never.

The luggage rack arrived at lunchtime today and was fitted this afternoon. The instruction pictorials are actually quite well thought out and serve their purpose. Note: you do have to take the front centre part of the boot lining out to get at the wiring loom. Remove the plastic locating pins by hooking out the centre part with a finger nail or thin mini screwdriver and they come out easily. Putting them back afterwards was not quite to easy!! This is not covered in the instructions. Also wiring up the three pin connector is tricky but doable once you have worked out how to get the wire into the pins. I was not too pleased with this arrangement and may solder the wires into the pins for extra security. Overall it was a fairly straightforward job and took me about 4 hours. The result looks pretty darn good too!!

Bought this a couple of years ago to enhance the looks of my Wife's car. Fantastic service. Supersonic delivery & communication saying time of visit. Item is absolutely first class as can only be expected of a genuine Mazda part. Expensive yes but worth every penny. I'm no mechanic but the instructions were excellent & I had it fitted in 2 or 3 hours on a sunny afternoon. Except for the electrics which is not my forte & will involve a costly Autoelectrician unfortunately. Have tried it twice with luggage on holiday (700 mile round trips) without incident. I'm now seeking some old 1950's luggage to complete the retro look.My only comment is why the upstand on the rack is at the front? Surely if this was at the rear it would provide extra security in preventing the luggage from sliding off? Am I being naive here or was this the way racks were designed in the good 'ole days?

Delivery was excellent. I'm not a mechanic or engineer, so took my time fitting the rack, it slowly came together and looks very very nice indeed. Always wanted a luggage rack on a sports car, very retro. Expensive but worth the look. Got a technician to fit the boot lifters, it took 30 secs., so suppose I could have done this myself, these do make a difference. Will have to have the wiring done professionally, but presume if you have the knowledge then this could be done by yourself, just not for me. On the whole has given my Mk3 Sport a great new look.

Excellent polite service from staff on the phone who explained my boot rack was not in stock but they would dispatch as soon as it arrived, which they did. I'm not a mechanic & the fitting instructions were foreign to me so my faithfu local garage man did the job in two & a half hours after inventing a couple of new swear words. It looks amazing & the quality of the chrome is outstanding. The car looks so much classier now, it wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny.

Boot rack arrived here in Western Australia within 1 week of ordering. Unfortunately two items were missing which took about 5 weeks to arrive as no replacement stock was available @ MX5 Parts. The upside of this however, was that it gave me plenty of time to study the assembly instructions. As promised by MX5 Parts the missing items were dispatched immediately they were available. The quality of the rack is superb, and fitting was uncomplicated and completed in 90 minutes. Only parts not really in keeping with the overall quality are the 3 wiiring pins which have to be assembled before being inserted into the connecting plug: they are flimsy and caused a minor problem during assembly.Overall impression; excellent!
