i believe this clock has been updated. The model I installed is completely silent in operation, and the backlight does now have a green glow to it, which matches the other instruments much more closely.I owned the previous version of this clock which could be heard ticking quite clearly when the engine and radio were switched off, and had a white/yellow backlight. So definitely a good update to this product.

A bit expensive for what it is. I didn't like the look of it all that much and like others have commented before me: It's loud! (similar to OEM clocks that elderly cars used to come with from the factory) But it doesn't bother me, I'm only able to hear it while standing still or cruising at low speeds through the city or with the engine off. If you have an aftermarked exhaust like I do I don't think most people will be bothered by it. I think it suits the interior of the NA MX5/Miata well. The lighting is like most aftermarked gauges: White with a yellow hue to it and a bit dim.. I fitted a green LED bulb in mine and it looks nice in the dark, it suits the original green instrument lighting better than what comes with the clock. It's a bit difficult to see what the clock is from an angle because it's so deep and the knot in the middle so big, but it's not all that bad.

the clock looks fantastic with the MK1, truth is that the light is a bit dim and the ticking sound is a bit loud. the price is also quite high for this item but in order to buy a DURITE you need double the money so this will suffice. Its been a good buy overall and i am satisfied. The delivery was fast as always.
