Always use genuine parts for critical components - delivery within 2 days (for dispatch to N.Ireland that’s terrific).

Use them for more than a decade and the engine has more than 130k miles and runs perfectly. Why bother with other aftermarket filters. Shame though the price keeps on going up. It definitely double over the course of a decade, which I don’t think it’s justified.

Read all the info regarding part numbers etc etc.The one I took off today was the LF10-14-302A-9B, (as fitted by Mazda dealer last year. This one is SHO1 14 302AAgreed the "Make Up" is different, but they do the same job.MX5 parts one has bigger, but less holes. UK supplied one has more smaller holes, (swings and roundabouts I suppose). They also fit the MX5 parts one on a few other up to date cars, so (in my opinion) will be good. As MX5 parts say, the bulletin was for European filters and not Japanese sourced ones.My understanding is that the difference was in the "BY PASS" pressure/mechanism within the filter if it got blocked with crud.Well, if you let you oil get in that state then you only have yourself to blame! Also (again my opinion) either of these 2 will more than likely be better quality than after market filters. All a matter of individual preference of course. Many thanks as always.

Great service and this filter will fit no problem, but if you go to your local UK Mazda dealer, this is not the oil filter you will get.

Excellent deliver, unfortunately the filter was wrongly supplied as Mazda Part SH01-14-302A. According to Mazda and the owners club forum this has been replaced by LF10-14-302A-9B and should not be fitted.Editors Note: We are aware of the bulletin, however are awaiting further clarification from Mazda. The filter that bulletin refers to are European made, which is denoted by the 9A or 9B on the end of the part number. The ones we supply are the original ones directly from Japan and it would seem they haven\'t issued the same bulletin. At this stage we can only surmise that the issue lies with the way the European filters were made, but that is the bit that Mazda technical are investigating.
