Really erratic idle, almost to the point of stalling once warm and very reluctant acceleration below 3200rpm, cured instantly by replacing this sensor. Fitted just under the coil pack it's an easy DIY job. Watch the YouTube videos!

My '92 Miata has been running poorly for over two years, with very poor idling, stalling and start problems, but still no codes. I've tried changing the oxygen sensor, fuel and air filters, plugs and leads to no avail. My mechanic suggested a new coil pack and mass air flow meter. Luckily I decided to get this one first - the old Mazza now runs like new!

Yey it's fixed!Having read forum after forum, it turns out this little bad boy has been a very bad boy indeed!Poor idle, cutting out, poor running when warm/hot, spluttering and coughing? Change this sensor first. Be sure to replace genuine only.Remove the coil pack, remove the metal spring clip from the green sensor connector, take a 18ml spanner/socket to the sensor and replace. Difficulty - 3/10 I'd say (and I ain't a mechanic!)Also a big thanks to MX5 parts for their great service.Hope this helps :)
