Camshaft Sensor 'O' Ring. Located at the back of the cylinder head, if this seal fails it will produce quite a large oil leak the can seem as if the rear crank oil seal has failed. If in doubt, always replace this first.Fits all Mazda MX5 Mk1 models, 1989>1998

“Just what you need to stop that leak down the back of the block. I've just done mine so Im hoping it's sealed. I found it dead easy to change with the cam cover off.”

“Noticed the leak from the smell of hot oil! Job took 40 mins. Not quite the 10 others have claimed.Used a Stanley knife with a new blade to cut the O ring on the diagonal in the groove then pulled it out with a pair of pin-nose pliers. The re-fit was the worst bit, took 7-8 goes to line up the tangs. Usual excellent service from the folks here. Tip: buy 2 rings, just incase!”

“Easy to remove, but a pain in the ass to reinstall.Even with a mirror... had to remove the valve cover, so i can see the correct position.Leaking fixed.”
