Exclusive to us!In conjunction with Pipercross, we have developed a new closed air intake kit for the Mk3 & 3.5! This new kit is a complete replacement of the factory air box and intake hose utilising the popular carbon fibre Viper filter element. Pipercross have engineered a new full radius spinning incorporating a machined MAF boss allowing the factory air flow meter to mate to the high flow filter. A new complete replacement silicone hose has also been designed to reduce the turbulence caused by the OE part, and helps increase airflow. The whole unit is fed by a 100mm intake hose to maximise the amount of air being pulled in by the filter. To finish the kit off, it has all been painted in a textured black finish giving a very high end OE appearance. An increased throttle response and deep sporty intake note are noticeable after fitting. Supplied with all the required fittings and instructions.Also, huge thanks go to Ted McKay who helped with the development of this kit by lending Pipercross his car!Fits all 1.8 & 2.0 Mk3 & 3.5 models, 2005>2012Please Note: This kit will NOT fit Mk3.5 6 speed models with the resonance pipe on the left hand side of the engine bay. “Bought one of these and it was delivered today. Very disappointed. Having spent over £200 for this would it kill anyone to include some instructions?I have bought and fitted many of the cheaper version of this kit. I cannot work out what the rubber bend is for, nor the bracket. The induction pipe seems way too short. I’ll make some phone calls on Monday but it’ll probably be returned and I’ll buy the VM1000 which is half the price and will give more power gain.”

“Pretty easy to fit but the instruction pictures are too small!Cold air feed hose needs gaffer tape to make it fit properly. That's about the only niggle.Fitted to a 2.0 sport tech and definitely improves throttle response. Very little improvement to intake noise but you can't have everything.”

“Fitted to MX5 2007 Mk3 2.0 sport. Took about an hour to fit, pictures could have been larger for novice mechanics like me! However it's fairly easy to work out. Agree with other reviewer that the hose fit to air intake is poor and I also had to use black gaffa tape to secure it in place. Bit disappointed as no discernible difference to sound but definite improved throttle response and you do get the air whoosh sound but only when bonnet is up! Was hoping for a bit more induction growl. Tip - if after fitting and reconnecting battery the DSC lights up on dashboard, start the car and turn steering wheel full lock - this should reset the DSC.It does look good in the engine bay and throttle feels stiffer so I would recommend it. Fitting a racing beat rear box soon so this should also improve sound and response.”

“Kit was easy to fit, sturdy and well made. Car (2008 1.8) much more responsive, nippier and performs better throughout the range, glad somebody has done something at last to give the engine a bit more oomph, the engine needs more power enhancers like this, well done Pipercross, well worth my hard earned pennies.”

“Just fitted the kit looks great, sounds nice, allows the engine to rev more freely and seams to make a big difference to acceleration (1800). The whole car feels smoother; my car has very low mileage and there was no problem with old filter.Kit is pretty easy to fit, only niggles were pictures on instruction could have been clearer especially when you have to disconnect existing clips and hoses etc. Also the fit of the air pipe to the old fitting on the front of the car is dire and really lets the kit down; I had to resort to ‘Gaffer tape’ to keep it in place. So come on Pipercross you expect better on a £200+ kit the rest of the kit is excellent and looks factory fitted apart from the above. Would have got 5 stars easy without the poor pipe fitting.”
