I bought this weeks ago and didn't get round to fitting it, finally threw it in with some braided lines and had the mechanic do the lot. OK, so the best bit is my little Mk1 1.8 with 120,000 miles goes like the clappers, it's bloody brilliant. Makes a great noise and rips up through the revs, so much better than the K&N filter in standard box set-up I had. Hilarious, thrashable, buy one.

Please see english comments and note to editors attention below the french part. First, the good:Fast delivery, good, well looking product. As efficient as said on former english comments. Regarding the engine noise's change, I've to admit it's trully outstanding. I have a full stock exhaust line and the engine is really howling is rage from 2500 up to 7500 rpm! Though I'd just want to add that there's this always-present-little-air-aspiring-noise that is a bit pesky. But you get used to it quickly, particularly as it's easily outshined by the car's stereo and becomes totally inaudible at the first throttle trashing. You effectively feel a slight torque and reactivity improvement that gets bigger through the first days, as the engine get used to the new induction I guess. Then, the bad:As read in former buyers comments, the written fitting instructions are surprisingly... useless. All you'll do if you try to follow them is getting misled plus probably get a strong headache... I think you'd better carefully look at the pictures and follow your instincts because it's quite easy too fit this way. And, yeah, don't forget to oil the exterior foam part of the product with the included fluid BEFORE you start fitting it on the car.4 stars only because of the lame fitting instructions which are a pity, particularly from a famous brand such as Pipercross, and also because of the little thing explained hereunder.Note to editors attention: is it normal that I've had to find three little washers at home in order to be able to complete this kit's fitting? The fact is that the upper bolt (the one that tighten the upper part of the heat shield on the "L" bracket) is way too long for the included chromed bore nut... if I had done the job only with the included fittings, I think I'd be hearing rattling and metallic vibration from the engine bay, as the heat shield won't have been fully fitted... have I done something wrong or is it the guys at Pipercross that are a bit of cheapskates?

Fitted this in about 30mins in my university car park and noticed the improvements to both sound and performance straight away. Yes, the instructions could be clearer, but you dont really need them as some common sense will see you through no problems. I have a strut brace which makes the fit a tight one, but it does still go in. Gives a great engine note that is still putting a smile on my face. Excellent product with great quality.

I had mine fitted by a mechanic. But, once on the Pipercross made my Merlot sound great when pushed. It also made the throttle more responsive and gave extra power when needed. The beuty of this kit is if you keep the revs and throttle low then you slip under the radar, give it a boot and it sounds like the Luffwaffe has arrived.I would reccomend this but as a nice bonus and suprise not for the MX 5 owner, but other road users too.
