“I've noticed with several of these chrome pieces that use 3M tape to fasten them to plastic parts on your car sometimes doesn't stick well even after cleaning and wiping with alcohol. I've found that using a plastic adhesion promoter will do the trick. You can get 3M brand in small packets that includes a wipe inside for just a few dollars at any auto paint supply store. They also have better 3M tape than I see in the stores as well. It seems a lot more sticky and is the same price if not a little cheaper even. Clean the area well, wipe with alcohol, let dry, then wipe with the adhesion promoter then stick the part on.”

“These trims really improve the appearance of the car, particularly from the side. I had problems with adhesion on one of the first set but hopefully the second attempt will be better. A big thank you to MX5 Parts for advice and assistance. I think the way to do it is to be very sure that they have stuck very well first time and possibly the use of silicone sealer, as recommended for some of the other trims, will ensure that they stay fixed.”

“Bought these in March, waited till mid-April to fit them. Followed instructions to the letter. Washing the car today (early June) noticed that the passenger one had fallen off. What a waste of money. I took the driver side off to match and it almost fell off. Does anyone need a passenger one?Editors Note: Sorry you have experienced problems with these trims. Under normal circumstances if fitted correctly these are extremely difficult to remove as proved with the ones fitted to our own car. As such someone will be in touch with you soon to discuss and maybe get to the bottom of why yours fell off.”

“They look nice and the only exterior chrome you can see from inside the car! My only gripe is the cheap fixing of 2 strips of 3m tape they've been on the car 3 days and already one is loose so will need to take off and maybe use some silicone sealant to fix them on. The problem with these is water gets inside very easy and then of course the tape loses it stick. Nice fit though if they stay on!”

“The parts look the business, but I have had problems with the 3m adhesive tape. Two little slitherings of tape isnt enough to do the job. Anybody out there got a quick fix.”
