After a slight problem with receiving a damaged set, which was handled superbly by Mark, I managed to fit these in about an hour. The main thing is to use the excellent spoon technique to get the dials off without damage and follow the advice to lightly push on the dials so they can be adjusted on the car. That is leave the clear plastic cover, the cowling and the two steering wheel covers off when re-fitting the cluster and check the dials are at the right position when the car has warmed up. The clear plastic cover can be clipped back on after the cluster has been fixed with the four screws. NB I just used a red sharpie on the outer face of the needles as recommended and left the green covers on the back lighting and the effect is superb. I just wish Westwood made a matching set for the heating controller.

Usual very quick and efficient delivery, thanks! My car is 1.6 auto and these dials are not suitable for these models as the warning light display in the rev counter does not have the correct warning symbols for overdrive. Also didn't realise these were Lockwood dials, I live in Leeds near to Lockwood and could have picked them up direct for less money ( that's my fault though, should have asked the questions before purchase) anyway, rang Lockwood directly to ask about the display and they confirm there isn't a part for the auto models. Not one to be stuck fast, I cut out the rev counter warning light section carefully with a craft knife, sanded the edges of the cut smooth, then cut out the bottom section of the original dial face and superglued it to the back of the new face. Result! Warning lights correct for my vehicle now and as the dial faces are quite thin, it doesn't look out of place. Although for a MK1, the warning light display has 1. AIRBAG ( early cars don't have this) 2. Headlight pop up light ( fine as all MK1's have this 3. SECURITY ( this light again not really of any use for early MK1's) these symbols are very visible even when not in use so my "fix" may be appropriate for others to do to keep their display OEM. This is not a negative as I've suggested a work round which is not too difficult to do and the dials themselves look great when installed with OEM green lighting!
