NEW Super Light IL Motorsport Strut Tower Brace BarThis new brace from IL has a 'D' section brace that has a honeycombe core with super light alloy endsA strut brace is the finishing piece to a near perfect body! Mazda did a great job when they created the MX-5 chassis, but as with everything there is room for improvement. A strut brace stiffens and strengthens the upper body structure. This makes your MX-5 feel more solid over sudden impacts and aids in more precise handling. Shock Tower Braces are now standard equipment on Special Edition MX-5's. One of the single biggest improvements you can make to your MX-5's chassis. This Shock Tower Brace is made of polished aluminum with a 'honeycombe' core and lightweight aluminium mountings.Fits all Mazda MX5 Mk1, Mk2/2.5 models, 1989>2005Please Note: This is now the latest version that comes with an additional modification that stops the master cylinder moving when braking giving a far more positive feel, which is now available for both right and left hand drive cars. This bar is not suitable for later 1.8 Mk1 models with the "fresh air" duct fitted to the left hand side of the vehicle. Also, it is NOT suitable for left hand drive vehicles with the larger 4 litre washer bottle on the bulkhead. Please also note, although the brace bar itself will still fit, the stopper for the master cylinder will only fit vehicles where there is a clearance of 210-230mm between the bulkhead and the end of the master cylinder. “Fast delivery (less than week for Greece). Good quality product.The instructions were helpful and the installation was quite easy. Although the master cylinder stud included in the package needed some modification to fit my mk2.5 (9/2002, 1.6). Nothing serious tho.This product combined with the IL rear chassis brace has improved cornering behaviour by at least 10%. Looks great too.Anyone with an mx-5 who loves cornering should buy one immediately. I'd say go for the rear brace too while ur at it.”

“Ordered for a MK2 1.6 2000 and delivery was ok: it look awesome in the engine bay. The car is steady and firmer on corners and also on straight line, but the big difference in on bumps and holes on the road (here in Italy we've plenty of those ...) where the car absorbes better the shocks and less feedback on the wheel. Only 2 notes I hope are useful:1) On the MK2 with a original airbox (with the "deep" U snorkel) could be difficult to put in place the snorkel after installing the bar: there is interference between these 2. In my case I pushed a bit and even if the snorkel is not perfectly inserted in the airbox it works. Well, anyway it's a good excuse to buy some Cold Air system :-).2) The bar passes exactly above one of the spark plug, so if in need to change it could be a bit more difficult.Extremely satisfied!”

“Firstly, the usual fantastic service from MX5 Parts - delivered the following day - it seemed almost before I'd completed the order!I've fitted this together with the IL Front and Rear chassis braces to my Mk.1 1.6i (96 UK Market version) and the results appear to be stunning; the whole car feels much tighter and more solid. Many of the body rattles seem to have entirely disappeared and given the state of the roads since the recent winter weather it doesn't feel like it's coming apart if I don't spot a pothole!Fitting was a doddle - probably a ten minute job, but of course I don't have the inconvenience of ABS kit obstructing one of the top mounts.I'm now thinking new springs and shocks and a slight lowering - should then be perfect!”

“Also known as a strut brace, note MX-5 parts has not referred to this product as one.A strut brace helps if your car has McPherson struts, the MX-5 has a double wishbone arrangement.Any bracing to a soft top will help to a certain degree, but apart from looking pretty there are better things to spend your money on first.”

“god quality product, easy to instal and very light... but the bar toutch the bonet when its closed, i had to make a litle mods on the bonet so i can close it! my mx5 is a 1.6 05/95they could make the bar at least 1inch lower on the top!”
