“I read the glowing reviews. I read the advice that you should not fit one yourself from other reviewers and elsewhere online and I read that they even fit it for free which would cost ú100 which is no use at all if one lives in the North of England. It would cost ú200 in fuel to get to Portsmouth. So itÆs the only time IÆve reviewed something without buying it as itÆs a geographically limited deal.”

“Excellent hood. Took far too long to fit because I didn't remove the old hood and frame from the car. There are two screws at the bottom of the frame which are hidden until you remove the rubber door seal. After an hour of fighting to remove just these two screws, you need exactly the right screwdriver, I removed the whole hood and it took 2 minutes to remove them. The other advantage is you can then remove the old hood and fit your new one indoors so there is no chance of it getting dirty whilst you are fitting it to the frame. Only other tip is to loosen one of the front clamps just to get it shut, then do the other clamp up and finally tighten the first clamp again. Has transformed the car, looks fantastic now. Having now done it I would recommend getting it fitted by Mx5parts if it's not too far to travel.”

“Had one of these fitted last Monday by you guys. Can't thank you enough for such a friendly and helpfull service even though you said that mine was a pig to fit and needed extra work to sort out water getting into my boot. Your fixed price fitting was an absolute bargain. Hood looks and feels amazing, need to sort out the paintwork now on the body and it'll look like a new car. If i need any more large jobs doing then i will be back, worth the trip and a weekend in Portsmouth. Thanks again.”
