“30 year old (?) OEM hubs had died a death. Wanted to buy the newly released supermiata chubs but I left it too long to order them before my trackday so I thought I'd take a punt on these. Anyways they survived a flogging on track with no cooling ducts so a win as they're a fair bit cheaper than OEM. Mx5 parts customer service was terrible on the other hand.”

“Arrived quickly and was fitted in Feb 2013 as soon as I got it, (the pervious bearing was running red-hot and was obviously seized up). After buying the 29mm socket to undo the hub nut it was dead easy to fit, a mechanic friend told me not tighten it to the maximum torque setting as this puts a permanent strain on the cages of the bearings so I tightened it up to the mid-range of the recommended setting and have so far had no issues 14K miles later; it still runs cold and there is no discernible side play in the bearing at all. Straight through the MOT with no advisories. It seemed to make sense to me but of course if you do decide to do this it's at your own risk.”

“Excellent service and delivery time. Surprisingly easy to fit. Longest and hardest part was finding a 29mm socket as someone else has previously said in their review. I eventually (after trying every shop i know including a BnQ) had to order from ebay and wait... Maybe MX5parts should add them to the tool section?”

“Fast delivery as normal. Fitted to replace failed bearing after 108000 miles so cant complain. Replacement took less than 1 hr I would say order a new hub nut cover as i damaged the old one getting it off, from experience i had ordered one. Also ordered a new nut which is 29mm which does not apperar in many socket sets, I found that a hex 30mm socket fitted ok but a 12 point one will not.Well worth changing as there was play in my old one and it has transformed the way the car drives.”
