K&N Apollo Induction Kit Mazda MX5 Mk3 2005>2008 Reviews

Read MX5parts Reviews

The Apollo induction kit for the Mk3 is the latest offering from K&N. The Apollo filter is a cone inside a sealed housing. This allows you to utilise the forced cold air system from the OEM airbox and push it through a far more efficient cotton gauze K&N filter. The kit also shortens the inlet tract and smooths the ariflow, thereby increasing HP and torque.Supplied only in black, but the filter housing can be painted any colour you choose :-)Supplied complete with comprehensive fitting kit and instructions.Fits all Mazda MX5 Mk3 models, 2005>2008

Queda bien encajado en el coche. Es bonito. No aprecio ningun augmento de potencia, eso si...solo por el sonido del motor, ya vale la pena! Muy contento!

Despite the Carton being delivered squashed and partially open, all parts were present and undamaged. Found following the instructions difficult as the Diagrams are unclear and too small. Without the cold air feed the Apollo sounds great, with the cold air feed however there is very little difference from the Stock filter. Fitted to a MK3 2.0L Sport.

Just fitted one to my MK3 Ltd edition. It makes the car smother and feels like it has more omph! Well worth the investment.

Decided to give the Apollo a go after having had a 57i kit on my previous (NB) MX-5. Fairly straightforward to fit although the pictures on the instruction sheet are very small and difficult to make out, however fairly disappointed by the end result. Performance increases are always fairly minimal on this sort of modification, but the sound of the engine was barely affected either. Worst of all though, the fitted kit looks a right mess. The build quality is certainly up to K&N's usual standards, but the end result is a mass of Jubilee clips and mismatched pipes and hoses - the solenoid switch must be cable-tied to a random hose and the breather pipe pretty much forced into place to get it to fit. After a few thousand miles, I've decided to reinstate the airbox and just use a K&N panel filter instead; can't really tell the difference (cf. the Apollo) and the engine bay looks much neater.

Extremely Fast delivery Next day. Fitted today in an hour or so. I wasn't expecting much and have been really surprised. I have a 2.0L sport and with the standard air box Revving from 6000 to 7000 there really wasn’t much pull as you would expect. However after fitting the Apollo the thing just keeps pulling. The sound difference is superb. It has taken away the "geary" sound and replaced it with a deeper natural throaty sound. My standard back box now sounds like it should (Sporty) but without it being leery. Listening to a drive-by you can now here a throaty sound from the front and back.Overall this kit is worth the money and fits very well with really good instructions. BUY IT NOW!!!!!!
