“Purchased a K&N Filtercharger for my 1.8 Mazda Mk1. No Air Conditioning so really easy to fit the filer. The air intake is a bit fiddly; I cut a 55mm hole in the engine guard and affixed the intake with a sturdy nut and bolt. I also installed a heatshield around the filter itself using an extra Large oval foil roaster tray to ensure more cold air is fed to the filter and stop any heat transfer from the engine. Mark at MX5 spares very supportive and a great service as always”

“Great service as always great noise and good quality. However, when fitting noticed the opening to the filter was much larger than the hole from the air flow meter. Don't know if I was missing a part or doing something wrong but after some bodging I got it to work.”

“Package arrived very quick. Easy to fit filter, cold air duct was a challenge! My car has power steering and air conditioning. The only way to get it to fit was to wedge the flexipipe in between the air-con and power steering pipes. This means the pipe is slightly collapsed, therefore the flow of air is reduced. Sounds great though, does'nt seem to be affecting fuel economy. Might make my own heat shield and see if that can improve things more.”

“Fitted this to my Eunos Roadster today. Great piece of kit but what i would say is be prepared to either not fit the cold air hose or route it elsewhere. The problem is that the air con motor and belts block the path the hose is supposed to take on other Mk 1 models w/o air con. I had to send the hose down towards the strut that connects to the wheel where the rubber air scoop could be attatched. Other than that, a great product. Sounds lovely and gives the car the oomph factor!Just a bit tricky if you have a Eunos import”

“The package arrived very fast, and everything was in there as it should be. Unfortunalty, theres no heat shield, so im worried about heat soak and therefore im going to have to make my own. The other major problem, is from what i can see, the cold air ducting will only fit if you dont have power steering, otherwise i dont see how to route it any other way, which im very dissapointed with. There was nothing to say when i bought this that power steering would be an issue.”

“I bought mine in the sale, so got a real bargain. If you have never driven an MX5 with a performance induction kit, buy one now! You get e nice growl under acceleration and the engine breaths better and generally feels happier. This goes 90% of the way to getting the sporty sound that you'll spend £250.00 on a new exhaust to achieve.Great product, usual good service from MX5 Parts.”

“If you want more OOMPH from your MX5 then this is what you need_ K&N induction kit (because the air dam is included, cold dense air=more power - you will also need (NEED) to buy a heat shield from another place as mx5 parts do not supply them), Long reach spark plugs, 8.5 magnacor Leads all available from mx5 parts. Fitted along with a full service and never looked back. For those of you who know what I'm talking about: 20-55mph in 2nd and 40-70 in 3rd. Ohhhhhh.....& the roar! Much more grown before 4K revs and a "beast on heat" after. This has also given me about 5-10mpg better fuel economy (depending on how I drive) and shaved some time off my 0-60. Motorway driving has much more pull to it now as the car simply glides away from others. Fitted to my MK1.MX5 Parts are the daddy. Super fast delivery and very helpful over the phone.”
