I bought the K&N filter and the silenced cat bypass and fitted them this morning to my 1.6 mach1 and it made my nieghbours impreza soil itself. Definitely recommend spending £130 on the 2 bits of kit. It sounds like a greased cougar from the planet big b@ll*cks. Two things to note, the cat by pass can only be fitted the right way, impossible to fit wrong way, took me half an hour to work that one out but I was hung over. Second point the K&N filter comes with a flexi pipe that I don't think K&N know how to fit. The filter fits fine but the pipe takes cold air at ground level and supplys it to the engine bay next to air filter. Its a chuff to fit, but so worth it. I'm sure there are better things that can be done or fitted but for the price you won't be disappointed.

Ordered mine on Wednesday, received Thursday, I fitted it within about 1/2 an hour (I found it very easy to fit, and I have no mechanical experience to talk of). Instructions are very clear; Product quality is good; Fit is average; engine note is notably lower under acceleration; power is slightly improved; grin is huge. ;)If you've got as far as reading reviews for this product then I'd recommend you just go ahead and buy one. Can't recommend it enough.

Kit arrived in double-quick time. Even having read the reviews (but missing the 'fine' print) - had a bugger of a time trying to find/see what held the AFM plug in place. Eventually spotted the little retaining wire (magoo lives!). A little mention of this, or a supplementary diagram would save much pain/frustration/replacement AFM's (see other reviews). Otherwise fitting was relatively easy - with a bit of bending on the mounting bracket supplied & a bit of route adjustment for the cold-air breather pipe. If a mechanical 'blonde' such as me can master it.... Result is a sound of happiness...:)
