“Fitted one of these to our 2.5 1.6 Phoenix, it now feels much more responsive, its a doddle to fit just a few clips. Purchased a second for my parents 2.5 sport and they have reported very similar findings to me. Next day delivery as normal thanks.”

“Bought the KN panel filter and it is a nice item, but i did not notice any difference over the standard Mazda paper filter. So I sold the filter on.I have just fitted a Pipercross Foam Panel filter for the same money and the car goes through the rev range far easier. Over 4000rpm its really noticeable. (Fitted to my Mk2.5 - 1.8)The Pipercross Foam filter lets 30% more air through, which makes a difference.”

“For anybody umm'ing and ah'ing about getting this, or indeed doing any work on their 5 at all, GO FOR IT!Its the easiest thing to fit on my mk2, I unclipped the two clips on the left, wobbled the top of the housing to the left to get around the lip of the little holds and tilted the housing up at the right enough to get access (Using the less pokey end of a screwdriver to wedge it open) After that it was lift one out, put one in.What this filter actually does is free the engine response, you notice instantly when you kick at the pedal repeatedly in neutral as it rises and falls in revs so quickly like the proper sportscar it is. If youre grinding your teeth with your foot to the floor trying to catch those big Audi's and BMW's thinking maybe the filter would get me there, or thinking if only that exhaust or engine sounded a bit meatier, it doesnt do it. I'm afraid you have to spend more than £30 for that.But honestly for the good of your engine, and the nicety of never having to buy one again get it!”

“I decided to purchase this 'simple' filter with no modifications, not more h_power or better sound. Just a better combustion. But I didn't know what to expect. What happened? I felt that the power of the car comes out freely. I don't think that I gain more power but I get the 110hp much easier. Even from the 1500rpm it responses quicklier. I think the sound changed, more deeper not much difference but the sound of the engine is like that it works more easy. Impressive! I am very pleased - 5 stars to mx5parts and K&N!Thank you allAngelos K.”

“I have to say that this was easy. There are a few good instruction videos at Youtube as well, which helped me with estimating the amount of oil to be applied. I might add that this is the second time I buy this (!), and the reason for that is that my service garage binned it, probably not realizing what it was. I couldn't possibly believe that somebody could be that stupid, and I only found out after 9 months or so! :-)”

“This filter is great!! I've had the K&N typhoon and it was awful, lots of noise and no power (sucking the hot air from the exhaust manifold).. This filter however pulls cold air from the right places thanks to Mazda's OEM air intake.. This combined with the upgraded HT leads and the long reach plugs the result is shocking... More torque and smoother running..Thanks MX5parts!!”
