“Quite pricey but after you put it on, it does look nice. Build is decent. 8/10 Stellar service from Mx5 Parts as usual. Only let down is fitment isn't the best in my opinion. You clip the bottom so it hooks onto the existing - fine. However, you then are suposed to use the self tapping screws it came with to anchor each side into the bumper. This is where the problem for me lies - it was really finnickey to align and the overall profile isn't a perfect match. The corners didn't fill the gap all the way or sit perfectly flush and could do with a bend/twist to straighten it out but due to it being so rigid its hard to do by hand. I actually ended up anchoring sides first then hooking the hooks on the existing grill otherwise it wouldn't fill the gaps properly. Patience required.”

“The black Zunsport half grille for my Mark4 was properly (and needed to be) packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. The finished fit was not perfect. There was a gap at the top of the grille that was somewhat pulled in when the licence plate was replaced, but still left a very small gap across the top either side of the plate. It did make me wonder if the top clip had engaged properly with the existing grill. Unlike other reviewers I found the installation frustratingly difficult. The instructions gave a link to a video that demonstrates the footle with screwdrivers whist attempting to locate the grille clips to the existing grille. Got there in the end, I think! Well made if expensive product that looks good, although not entirely blown away with the finished result since in my opinion the original look was good anyway. The aim was to protect the radiator from possible debris damage and it should do that. Just to prove how fussy I can be I note that the invoice described the product to be for the MK4, with a 1.8 litre Engine. Only 1.5 litre & 2.0 litre engines in the MK4.”

“Reasonable quality product that adds a nice finishing touch. 10/10 for ease of fitment - only took me 10-15 mins but only 6/10 for its shape and how it fills the aperture. maybe the item got twisted in picking, packing and delivery, but the shape was slightly out when compared with the area it was being fitted into. Not a perfect match.”
