I was worried about getting hold of a painted door mirror for my limited addition Graphite MX5 which had different colour mirrors but found the part on MX5parts straight away with a good price.

Fast delivery, replacement for a broken mirror, cheaper than the dealer price. What's not to like?

I ordered a new mirror on a Friday and 5 working days later MX5 Parts phoned me to say it was in stock. The mirror is easy to fit, it’s retained by two torque screws. On my vehicle, one screw is black and the other is bright. As mentioned in the ad, the mirror is supplied with one screw, it was bright one so I fitted the new bright screw in the location the old one came from, and I reused the black screw. (Must be a reason for different coloured screws and only supplying the bright screw!)The more difficult bit is the wiring for the mirror, to thread this through I had to remove the door card (prepare for broken plastic clips), After unclipping the cables for the door lock and disconnecting a speaker from the card; I then had to remove a plastic frame holding the large speaker and a wiring loom to the door. Once this is clear it is then that the mirror wiring can be threaded through. Overall it is a DIY job but there are hidden screws and weak plastic clips to deal with. DIY, your call!
