Made specifically for the Mk2/2.5, this ingenious dash mount simply clips to the interior trim to provide a firm base to attach a phone/ipod/sat nav holder. “Provides a flat surface for attaching phone holder. However, when you attach phone the phone tends to interfere with volume control knob. Plus it's very expensive for a small peice of plastic.”

“Do not buy this item. The quality of the plastic is excellent, but that's about all. Yes this will fit into the gap between the radio surround and dashboard, but it's not a engineered fit. There's no positive click or fit. The sticky pad is too stiff to mould itself to the slightly curved surfaces of the radio surround, so only about 30% of the adhesive surface will contact the trip. If you're prepared to glue this in place then it's good option, but then what's the point! A good idea but the design does to lend itself to snugly fit.”

“THIS IS THE ITEM TO BUY - Forget the Centre Console Mount which can (when added items are installed) interfere with your use of the gear stick or handbrake and therefore compromise on your safe use of your MX5 - and which in my case simply broke on removal to fit the bits to it - see my review (2 stars), of that bracket and the pictures shown on the enlarged display and you will understand the potential issues.The Dash Mount is a substantial but discrete addition which allows you to fix your necessary items without destroying the trim with screw holes. No problems installing with the tool provided and it is just as easy to remove if you need to, although the use of the adhesive tape makes this a more permanent and good looking feature to your car. It is probably best to plan what you want to add to the bracket before installing it to decide wether it is best to do so before installation - but the result is great - Phones ipods and sat navs are away from the screen and in an ideal place. Well done again to MX5 Parts for the fast delivery, this time its 5 stars!”
