“Here is an honest review of this product. I am a frequent flyer with MX5 Parts and have bought lots of gear over the years: exhaust, induction kits, aerials - even, last week, a dipstick. So - no sour grapes, just honest opinion.Ready?This is a poor product. Out of the box condition: bad. My headlamp cover was chipped and scratched and had very poor finishing on the underside: visible flakes of fibreglass and an undulating surface. The 'prongs' used to attach the cover to the car's headlamp assembly were poorly finished and I had to spend a good deal of time sanding in order to get the thing to fit (which is doesn't, really, as I could only get three of the original four screws back in when reassembling the black cowling).I will now have to remove the cover, sand, prep, spray, re-spray and then lacquer in order to get anything like a decent finish.The final, in situ, look of the thing is good: don't get me wrong. There is much more air flow into my induction feeds and I'm happy with the general look of the thing. BUT - this is not a product that advertises the otherwise impeccable quality levels of MX5Parts.Autolink offer a similar unit on their site which is all-steel construction. If I had to do this again, I'm afraid I'd be heading there.Sorry if this is too negative - but what's got to be said, has got to be said.I will still shop on this site and I think 99% of what is sold here is GREAT. :)Buyer beware.CJ Taylor”

“The first one I received was a truly dreadful fit and looked awful. Anyway, the nice people at MX5 Parts replaced it without any fuss. The second one is certainly better but I wouldn't call it a great fit. There is a noticeably bigger gap between the top edge of the cover and the bonnet than there is with the standard cover.”

“Good points, covers are a direct replacement and help to cool down engine bay and look cool. They take 5-10 mins approx to fit. Bad point - Please MX5 parts make sure there are no stickers on the covers, a nightmare to remove because any residue left form stickers spoils the final spray paint. Also, the covers do need a little light fine sanding to perfect. So, thumbs up and a must for any MX5 owner.”
