This is a great aftermarket part, straight swap for the OEM part, no additional parts required apart from wiring up the OEM connector. No need to deal with changing the cables. Fitted in less that an hour. Highly recommended.

The fitting instructions for this product are very minimal. What the website doesn't tell you is that there is no plug with this product, you get 2 loose wires. You need to cut off the OEM plug and heat shrink the 2 new loose wires to the 2 wires that is left over when you cut the plug off. Would of loved to know that before I bought this product as I didn't want to be cutting off OEM bits to make this work.

Like several other reviewers I too have had trouble with this aftermarket product. I replaced my drivers one some time ago, and although I wasn't particularly pleased with the general sloppiness, it did a reasonable job and was easy to fit, despite the poor instructions. It is still working fine. When my passenger one went I was a bit unsure but went for this option again. Unfortunately the motor seized just after the warranty ran out. I had tried to fix it myself, and as I just wrecked it in the process I just bit the bullet and bought another one as I had thrown out all the original stuff. I see from mx5Parts comments relating to other reviews I perhaps should have contacted them anyway. Interestingly my replacement, which is still in warranty, stopped functioning in the very cold weather but is now working again....I too wish I'd stuck with the original system. Everything else I have ever bought from MX5parts has been of very high quality and their service is outstanding, so I am disappointed here.

The instructions were terrible, there is no mention of the fact that you need to drill two new holes because the brackets supplied are not long enough to reach the original holes and that you need to purchase new bolts.Despite that, the product works better than the original unit. I spend the longest time resetting thedoor glass. The service from MX5 Parts is second to none, but I would recommend reading the reviews in future before purchasing any after market items.

What seemed to be the rescue to the bad original window system, turned out to be even worse. After some time the thing stopped working, and that was just after the warranty went out. So here I am, with another not functioning window.I am an mechatronic engineer myself, and can conclude that the original patent is a better solution. If you regurarly grease the thing, that is.Stay away.Editors Note: Sorry to hear you had problems with this item. We did reply to your email offering you the opportunity to return the item even though it was out of warrenty. If you had have contacted us when the item actually stopped working it would have still been covered under the manufacturers warrenty and we could have sent you a new one or an alternative straight away. If any product you purchase from us is considered to be faulty, please contact us immediatly and we will always do what ever we can to help. A member of our customer services team will be in touch soon to see if there is anything we can do.

I bought a matching set of these last March (2009) (im writing this in May 2010) and as per usual the service from MX5 parts was excellent. This website is an excellent tool and appreciate the options that MX5 parts bring. This product though is a rare disappointment, 6 months after buying them the passenger side regulator seized and was replaced free of charge. The driver side has since stopped working and im beginning to become frustrated. I have revisited the mechanism and nothing is binding etc so i can only presume the motor has once again seized. I know the Mazda door regulators well and i hoped these would be a simpler option.Editors Note: Sorry to hear you have experienced problem with this product. Bought the window regulator in December for Christmas but the weather has been so bad its taken till now (March) to fit.First of all id like to thank MX5 parts for the best service around. After reading the different reviews i was a bit concerned as to how this instalment was going to pan out? but it went without a hitch!Fitted to a 1994 Eunos, i did not need any extra bolts or any drilling required? Yes you need to snip off the old wire connection and join two wires to the new wires.Works ok! Goes up and down much smoother than my last one.
