I have experienced the same problem as Thomas Loudon but at least mine lasted 11 months and then exhibited the same deterioration as described. I would have expected a much longer life.Editors Note: Sorry to hear you have experienced problems with this product. We take the quality of all our products extremely seriously so as such someone from customer services will be in touch soon to sort out a replacement and look to get the other cover back to the suppliers for their comments.

Ok so seems like good quality material. Only just fitted it but quite simply this covet does not fit a mk1. Yes I can make it fit like the picture at the front which is great but the back then become exposed. It fits great around the sides but does not cove both front and rear bumpers fully. It goes around the edges at the front just under the number plate and at the rear just above the fog lamp.No wonder this produces scratches as mentioned earlier as the seam at the front and the rear rest on the actual bumper paint.Editos Note: Sorry to hear this did not meet your expectations. It was identified by the manufacturer that there are different sizes of cover for the different models, so a member of customer services will be in touch soon to ensure you have been sent the right one.

I bought the cover 4/2090. It has perished and is now no fit for use. It was the MK1 version and I did use it to cover the car for a long time. It worked very well for the first 18 months but I thought I could at least get two winters use out of it.

The cover for the Mk2 is also intended for the Mk3, so on my Mk2 it's quite 'generous' around the wing-mirrors - definitely not the snug fit the photo suggests! However, it's well made and arrived very quickly, and pretty easy to fit single-handed.

Ordered this about 11pm on Thursday night, arrived on Monday morning. Slowest service I've ever had from MX5parts.co.uk and still very fast.Had considered the light weight version but went for this because my hood's in terrible shape and really needs replacing. Despite pouring rain and inches of snow my car stayed bone dry. Couldn't believe it, I thought it would work, but I didn't think it would be this good.I can't understand the reviews that say that it's hard to fit. It's a doddle! lie it on the roof, find the label that says front and unroll it. Pull the elastic bit over both bumpers and secure using the ties. It's about as complex as putting a shower cap on your head. Fits my MkII like a dream, and there would be room for a spoiler or a boot rack.I only have one criticism, which prevents it from being a 5*: The ties under the car which hold the cover down are a pain. You basically end up rolling around on the floor to get the tie from one side of the car to the other, which is fine if you have a driveway but not fine if you park on a fairly busy road like me. What this product needs is either ties that go around the wheels instead of under the car or some kind of flexible pole to push the ties under the car.If you're looking to keep your car safe from the horrid wet weather, especially if your hood's as dodgy as mine then I recommend this cover.

Order arrived after 2 days, and whilst this cover is a bit tight for the latest model, it looks very good. I have had other bespoke car covers for other roadsters I have owned, but this one is the best. The cover looks like it is going to keep the worst of the Northumbrian winter at bay.

I have used this high quality product for over a year now and it still looks fine and works well. It fits will over my 91 Eunos, even with rear spoiler. Although it is useful to keep off the rain or sunshine and the straps below hold it in place against the wind, it is no substitue for a proper garage. It can only be used on a dry car and cannot be put away wet. It can be a real pain getting it dry. However, I would recommend it if no garage is available.
