I really really really want to say I loved this product. I was hoping to reduce my impact on the environment, save money, have a comfortable and hygeinic experience each month, and relate positively to my body. I was excited and optimistic. I tried and tried but I could not use the mooncup comfortably. Inserting and removing was extremely painful. It felt way too big to fit inside me (even though I've had two babies). Forcing it inside hurt and distressed me. It unfolded and kind of pinged open as it went in (and also as it came out). Removing it was messy and my bathroom looked like a murder had happened each time. I never felt comfortable enough to try using it in a public toilet so my life was more limited than usual because of that. I must have spent a good 10 hours googling tips and tricks for comfortable insertion, watching videos and learning all types of different fold techniques. I did persevere and take the time to get used to it. I squirmed and cried my way through three periods using the mooncup and then decided this was not for me and was relieved to return to sanitary towels and tampons. I hope others have better experiences as the ethos behind it is so positive and from the reviews it is obvious that lots of women get on brilliantly with it.

Hello there, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review, although we’re sorry to hear that the A size Mooncup menstrual cup was uncomfortable. We can appreciate this being disappointing. You’ve done the right thing by taking a break from using the Mooncup® and we recommend getting in touch with our friendly Advice Team at advice@moncup.co.uk run by medical health care professionals. They will be able to go through some information and questions with you to see why you may be having this issue, and from there they can provide tailored support to help.
I have used Mooncupe Size B for 10 years, I had to upgrade my old one and turned 30 so went for a Size A. It’s an amazing product and I am so grateful I discovered it in my early twenties as it revolutionised my life!

Very good once you get the hang of it. I would recommend lots of practice putting it in and taking it out just to get used to it. I had to trim the stem slightly to make it feel comfortable and i find sitting upright when putting it in works better. Now i am used to it i find that i dont even know im on my period and it is comfortable. I would recommend using period pants or some protection just incase it does leak but to he honest it hasnt leaked at all for me. The main thing is to get used to the sensation of putting it in/taking it out and getting used to a different form of period support after using traditional ones for so long. I would completely recommend it and ensure you give it a good chance! I would not go back to traditional period methods ever again now!

The only reason I had to replace my mooncup is because my husband accidentally threw it away, it had lasted years!!! Replaced with an exact replica and still love it. Easy and comfortable. Less cramps. Can’t fault it. Thank you

Unfortunately after reading the leaflet inside the package I discovered you can't use a Mooncup if you have previously had Toxic Shock Syndrome which I have ☹️ I think this should be stated clearly before you purchase.
