About Mooncup:

Mooncup began with a clear goal: to give people a healthier, sustainable way to manage their periods.

Back in 2002, we launched the world’s first medical-grade silicone menstrual cup, pioneering a movement that put health and the planet first. We saw an industry where profit came before people, ingredients were hidden, and plastics reigned, so we challenged the status quo.

Now, we're on a mission to become the world’s biggest sustainable period care brand. We’ve just launched Mooncup period pads into Sainsbury’s, Boots, Holland & Barrett and Look Fantastic. We’re also partnering with workplaces, gyms and hotels (like Canva, Danone, Third Space, Gymshark and Claridge’s) to offer free period care in bathrooms.

We use only science-backed, body-safe ingredients because your period products should work with your body, not against it.

First time using this and it was a bit difficult to insert but once it’s in you can’t really feel it. Good for light bleeding. Also, it’s easy to clean.

- not a soft silicone- the rim of the cup is not smooth and it causes uncomfortable feeling and irritation when you pull it out.- inconvenient to store the cup in a cotton bag- a bit pricey (to compare with different products)But the size and shape is great. Nice colour

I just love menstrual cups and own a few different types. This one is so easy to use and still fits well for me when i am over 30, each body is different so you may wish to experiment to find the right fitting cup for you. This brand is very comfy to wear, it is easy to insert and can be worn comfortably over long periods. The rounded rim ensures a snug secure fit along with the holes which help to suction into place. It does have a pull for easy removal but i always recommend not to pull but to break the seal by gently inserting a finger at the side. When wearing i have had no leakage at all and it has been comfortable. I was able to wear whilst exercising, swimming and sleeping too.The instructions provided also include pictures which make it easy for a first timer to use. I like how eco friendly it is and that it is easy to clean and sterilise. You can carry it around in the draw string bag for emergencies too. These cups are made to last a long period of time with some lasting 10 years.

This is the future of period protection. They take a bit if practice but my daughter tried a couple of times and now she’s away with it and loves it! The smallest one is perfect for teens. There are other sizes available depending on age and whether you have given birth. The nüdie period cup is convenient, comfortable and secure. No leaks. Latex and BPA free. The cup is designed to last at least 10 years! Imagine how much you will save on tampons and pads! It is convenient, hygienic, environmentally friendly and can be used from your first period. You can wear it safely overnight as well as during swimming and exercising. It is held in place by your muscles therefore won’t move or leak once correctly inserted. It also helped ease my daughter’s period pains. This cup comes in a lovely presentation box with a storage bag, comprehensive instructions and the nüdie menstrual cup. Would be ideal to give to a young girl when her periods are due to begin.I wish these cups had been around when I was younger!I can’t recommend them enough. Try one - you will never go back.

My daughter and I have been talking about this new trend towards period cups for some time now, and then the opportunity to try this one came up and so she agreed to try it. There are different sizes available depending on age and whether you’ve had a vaginal birth as yet, and as this was a smaller size, it was more suitable for her than me. It came in a small round cardboard box and is provided with a cotton drawstring storage pouch and very good instructions with pictures. It’s a pale pink colour and very soft and flexible- you sort of fold the opening in on itself to allow insertion and then it springs open inside you to form a seal within your opening. Even though its soft and flexible it’s easier to insert if you wet it first with ideally a water-based lubricant or just water. lubricant is better and actually getting it positioned just right takes a bit of practice. But once in, it stays put and she had no leaks and wants to carry on using them going forward. The pros are that it can stay in for up to 12 hours and holds more than a single towel or tampon would and in the long term its cheaper than pads/tampons plus the obvious benefits to the environment.Cons are that initially its an expensive outlay before you know if you’re going to get on with them and ideally you’d need to have two of them.

I have never utilised a menstrual or period cup before, having used sanitary towels and/or tampons instead, however a friend does utilise a menstrual cup and recommended it. I ordered the small version but over sizes are available at the time of this Amazon Vine review. The cup arrived in a sealed bag inside a natural cotton drawstring bag inside a compact and round cardboard box; the drawstring bag makes it very discreet to carry in your handbag. It also includes some detailed instructions on use. These are both pictures and words and very useful to someone who has never used a period cup before.I think like tampons, this product will not be for everyone. Although priced at £23.75 at the time of this Amazon Vine review, which does seem pricey, you soon realise it won’t be as it is relatively easy to clean and is reusable so will probably last years and save you a fortune in other sanitary products such as towels and tampons, not to mention it is probably better for the environment than them.
